Lloyd’s Flagged To Insure Against NFL Player’s Bad Hair Day – This article posted on the National Underwriters web site starts off innocuously enough. The news hook is a story about a $1 million Lloyd of London insurance policy taken out on the signature tresses of Troy Polamalu of the National Football League’s Pittsburgh Steelers. The article notes, “Lloyd’s is no stranger to insuring body parts. For example, it has insured singer Tina Turner’s legs, the ankles of pro baseball’s Mark McGwire, and the crotch of Adam Lambert of American Idol fame.” Whaaat? Comments, anyone?

NEW GLAM NATION DRUMMER – ISAAC CARPENTER

The Twitterverse has been abuzz with the news that Isaac Carpenter will be replacing Longineu Parsons as the drummer for the Glam Nation tour after September 21st. According to Wikipedia, Carpenter (born on August 29, 1979 in Tri-Cities, Washington) is an American hard rock drummer, percussionist and producer. Carpenter is best known as the former drummer for the alternative rock group Gosling (previously known as Loudermilk). He is the current drummer for Loaded, the group lead by Velvet Revolver and former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, and has also performed with The Exies.

re: Lloyd’s of London ~ I recall a news release stating the famous insurers were “covering” the most noteworthy GB in an item dated April 1, 2010. Then, noticing the date of the release, I assumed it to be a joke. Hummm… perhaps not! But how to put a value on the priceless?
Celebs always say they’re insuring some body part with Lloyds — it’s a publicity thing. Interesting, tho ‘ – I would have thought they’d say Adam was insuring his VOICE!
So the PR is that his GB is more insurance-worthy than his voice! Cute. Both are priceless, o’course.
