Adam is worthy – To SweetSexySean

One of our best Twitter friends @sweetsexysean, posted this letter after watching Adam on Oprah today.  We were so moved by this young man’s sentiments, we wanted to share them with other Adam fans as some might gain insights into Adam’s extraordinary appeal or find themselves in Sean’s words.

I know many don’t understand….. I also know there are many who do understand but……. as a man, who is gay….. I found myself at first like any other fan, just happy and excited to see Adam on Oprah. SO EXCITED! LOL I was counting down the minutes with all of you. LOL

As the show started and my Husband, Jake, came home. We sat on the couch together and watched. We listened as Adam talked so eloquently and self-aware as he always does. So funny with humor and his own pure sweet and kind heart.

Jake was holding my hand and then lifted it up and kissed it during a commercial. I laughed and said, what’s that for? He said, “because you look so innocent and sweet with that huge smile on your face, waiting for the commercials to be over with and Adam to be back on.” LOL As Adam came back on and started to sing WWFM………..something came over me. Tears started to stream down my face, I felt such pride as I saw this man who has never lied, never hidden the fact of who he is, never tried to say, ‘oh it was just a joke’ or some other bullshit as so many before him have done. He was honest and open and he told the world, yes “I’m Gay” and so what? Deal with it! And there he was………on Oprah………OPRAH!!!!!!!!! The woman is a fucking Icon to THE WORLD and she was adoring him. SINGING ALONG with Adam word for word.

Oprah is right, Adam IS paving the way. I know he didn’t choose it. I know he may not have wanted it. But he is doing it and I thank him and love him for it even more………..if that’s possible. LOL

I have no doubt……….Adam is the key. He is the one. He will change and open minds and hearts. I know that is a lot to put on one man but the beautiful of it………Adam doesn’t have to do anything extra or special………..Adam just has to be Adam and the rest just falls into place.

What an amazing day. What a beautiful day. What an amazing and beautiful man Adam Lambert is from the inside out.

Dearest Sean,

You are so perceptive about Adam. True power and leadership are bestowed upon those who by thought and deed prove themselves of worthy character, and possessed of the courage and confidence to walk ahead into the darkness, with but a candle to illuminate the path ahead while shining spotlights for those who follow.

You Sweet Sean, your husband Jake and your friends, have an able role model who seeks not leadership or power, simply truth, honesty and opportunity. As you remind us, Adam remains true to himself and readily accepts the consequences of his actions and his sometimes painful candour, attributes we should all emulate. He is generous with praise, spreads it about like so much glitter powder, but you can’t pry undeserved rancour from him with a crowbar.

Have we ever heard him castigate another for any situation in which he was involved? It seemed so simple to ignore Out editor Hicklin’s contrived accusations toward Adam’s “people” and allow this misinformation about their interference in Adam’s image to just wash away like so much detritus. Adam tried to disregard it, but Out published another wacky piece so the lies could no longer be tolerated.  Adam faced the fabrications and informed Hicklin that all instructions, advice and requests originated with him.  Perfect.  Issue dead and no one will try that again.

Post AMA trauma and Adam had so many opportunities to spread the wealth of recriminations, yet he did nothing like that. Adam remained upright, at the other end of the phone to answer questions or accept personal appearance invitations, knowing full well what he would be asked.  No skulking in the cave for  him, no jetting off to hide, no “spokespeople”, just Adam, in person, answering sometimes ridiculous questions and even if for the twentieth time, he patiently answered again.  Finally, “ABC did what they thought they had to do” or something similar.  So did Adam’s fans do what we had to do and so did all the other networks. They invited him, he performed and we watched – it’s not that complicated!

Though unrequested and undesired, Adam reluctantly and now admittedly,  wears the mantle of leadership and he is one whose counsel should and will be sought.  There will be “Adam Lambert Case Studies” for Public Relations training – take heed those who anticipate becoming a public figure.  Some of Adam’s personal qualities are innate and some of course have been shaped by his parents, peers and the communities in which he grew up, all of whom he is quick to acknowledge and thank.

Are these tests of Adam’s character enough to suppress further nonsense?  Muckrakers are too ignorant to take a lesson and give up, or they would be gainfully employed, however their mischievous attempts to vilify Adam will fail as they lose credibility with their audience and the media.

Sean, I can’t think of anyone finer than Adam to merit your affection, admiration and emulation.

And sexy??? As Xena has pronounced before – any man who can get both women and men flinging panties, bras, boxers, briefs, thongs and jocks at him is the sexiest man alive.  The sexiest man is the one who makes you feel like you are the sexiest person in the room.  And here’s a man who can do it through the camera lens.  Any serious fans have their favourite “Adam is flirting with me” photo?  “Beth” anyone?  Fess up fans, which Adam is your desk top?  How many different “Adams” in your rogues’ gallery?  How many pair of Adam’s eyes look at you while you work?  Thought so.

We dubbed Adam the 21^st century Beau Brummell for music, but his fastidiousness carries through to his very positive character and impeccable manners.  Truly what you see on the outside is a reflection of the man, as he continues to develop himself as a person of honour, respect and respectability, with a sense of humour, especially about himself and a finely tuned appreciation for the ridiculous, the campy, the creative.
