Adam Lambert Inspires $1,000,000+ in Donations
We have just documented more than $1 million in fan donations to causes supported by Adam Lambert. All this month, Adam’s fans have been buying the Pennyroyal Peace pendant and making donations to the Trevor Project and other causes to reach the goal. As fans neared the goal late this week, we heard some were gifting pendants to other fans. What a fandom – always reaching out to help one another! Now, Tim Foster from Pennyroyal Studio has just announced that pendant sales have reached $40,000, taking the tally over the top. We salute all the fans who have opened their hearts, wallets and spent countless hours promoting Adam’s causes.
With help from @RadarEcho and @its_JustCarter, we have tallied up the documented donations:
- DonorsChoose Idols Tour campaign $322,607 – 331,987 students reached
- DonorsChoose Glam Nation campaign $203,964 – 273,431 students reached
- Charity:Water 29th birthday campaign $323,573 – 16,178 people served with clean water
- Pennyroyal charity campaign $75,000 raised for DonorsChoose ($43,092 for Donor’s Choose in 2010 and $32,000 for MusiCares in August 2009). Third campaign in progress for Trevor Project
- American Idol Gives Back – Adam Lambert campaign $14,800
- Aftermath Remix Campaign for Trevor Project Amount raised unknown.
- Grammy Foundation Auction – Glam Nation tour shirt fetched $9,200
- Ellen’s e-bay auction for Haiti – Adam donated signed & framed photo & underwear $8,500
- Subway Help Little League – Adam’s signed baseball went for $305
- Do Something Awards – fans donate to celebrate: DonorsChoose $1,846; CharityWater $1,290
- On the Meaning of Adam Lambert campaigns for Donors Choose and Trevor Project to date $1,500
- 1n10 Camp for LGBT youth $1,020
- Fundraiser for tornado victims (@motheranimal) – $1,300
- Birthday Party fundraiser for RedCross (@Its_Carter) $480
- Singapore Glamberts fundraiser for Business Times Budding Artists Fund $1,219
- Auction of Equality Awards programs (AZGlamFan) $896.50
- Independent fan campaign for DonorsChoose $1,010
- NYC birthday party fundraiser for DonorsChoose projects (@plumcomm) $350

Total amount raised = $1,008952+
In addition, Adam has inspired fans everywhere to launch their own charity initiatives:
- Countless donations to the Red Cross for Haiti, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, tornado victims in the U.S. and so many more areas in need. Adam’s tweet for Haiti earthquake relief made him one of the top social media news influencers of 2010.
- Fans in non-US countries contributed to charities because they didn’t want to miss out on the US-only DonorsChoose campaigns
- Fans have been donating Adam’s music (in huge numbers!) and other items to 1n10, Sister Soldier Project ($5,350 equivalent in donated CDs), MusicCanCure

No amount of money could repay Adam for all that he has given to his fans. We are happy to donate to all these worthy causes in his name. He could be like a lot of the other so called celebrities and do nothing but Leila and Eber brought Adam up obviously the right way.I hope his career soars to new heights and he becomes the legend we all know is waiting.He will become rich in his own right and I am sure his support of charities will always be a part of who Adam is.As someone who lives outside the US it a pleasure to donate to Adam’s charities whether in the US or elsewhere in the world.
