Newsweek – Adam Lambert’s New Album ‘Velvet’ is a Love Letter to Classic Music, Including the Songs of Queen. “What do you think we need more right now in music?People doing their own thing. I find it tiresome when everybody just copies the last hit. I’m inspired by artists that carve out their own path and follow their own sound.”

BU News Service – Review: Adam Lambert’s latest album shows he can certainly stand on his own. “With “Velvet,” the listeners can hear that Lambert has matured as a person and an artist over the past decade. His work is still undeniably impressive, but it feels more chilled out, and the opening track sets this tone wonderfully.”

SkyNews – Adam Lambert releases ‘Velvet’ album. (VIDEO) “Adam Lambert ‘became somebody to love’ last month when he fronted megastar rockers Queen in Australia and now the singer is releasing a new solo album.”

Thomas Bleach – ALBUM REVIEW: Adam Lambert – Velvet. “From start to finish, Adam Lambert will transport you on a sonical journey of self-exploration through glam-rock and soulful deliveries. This record feels like the older sibling of ‘For Your Entertainment’ as it takes what he learnt from that experience and brings it into a whole new light. It’s an engaging record with a big heart and a lot of very interesting sonics that does feel very cohesive.

Fast Forward Magazine – Adam Lambert: “‘Velvet’ sounds 100 percent like me” (translated from German). “The common thread that runs through the entire album is love. It’s about different types of love, about finding love, falling in love and falling in love and about self-love. Some songs are about exactly that self-esteem and the realization that you should first of all love and respect yourself and be aware that you deserve good. That is particularly important to me. “Superpower” is a good example of this, also “Stranger You Are”, “Ready To Run”. These are all songs that have the message: “Hey, if that just doesn’t feel right for you, you deserve something better.” ”

Metro – BTS, Billie Eilish and YungBlud ‘could make millions’ from home concerts. “Singer Adam Lambert loves the idea of home concerts and thinks it’s something that could last past the pandemic.  ‘It’s pretty cool. It’s a direct reflection of where we’re at with technology too,’ he told ‘It’s amazing what we can do now, as far as casting ourselves everywhere. I definitely want to do something coming up, I’m gonna try to figure something out.’ ”

The Musical Hype – ADAM LAMBERT, VELVET | ALBUM REVIEW. ““On the Moon” may be the closest to fully embracing the label.  This urban-pop number exemplifies ‘2020’ through and through – sleek and modern to the core.  What makes it so fresh? The keyboards, synths, and the busy, hip-hop drums.   Vocally, through much of “On the Moon,” Lambert is among the most restrained he’s been throughout the entirety of the album.  He rises to the occasion on the final minute, adding ad-libs but not overreaching in the least.”

Popmatters – Adam Lambert Gets Nostalgic on ‘Velvet’. “Velvet also undoubtedly draws inspiration from Queen, whether that was the intention or not. “Stranger You Are”, an outsider’s anthem sounds like it could have been featuring Freddie Mercury in another life. Lambert especially shines with his latest collaboration with Nile Rodgers, “Roses”, as well as the heart-wrenching ballad “Closer to You”. Masterpieces like “Loverboy” and “Overglow” make me want to forget that Lambert’s previous attempts at mainstream pop ever existed. He has found his groove, crafting songs that would work well for both a dancefloor and a living room evening party. His R&B influences bring to mind the earlier work of Alicia Keys, while the funkier parts of the album place Lambert alongside Harry Styles as a purveyor of sounds from decades past, reimagined for a new generation.”

Devious Pop – Adam Lambert ‘Velvet’. “‘Velvet’, whilst lyrically Adam seems to be at his most vulnerable… sonically it feels like his strongest body of work… it feels like everything’s been tied together in a nice bow and feels very authentically Adam… there is no chance of you going through this album and skipping any tracks, especially ‘Closer To You’.”

Our brain is so fascinating, intuitive, creative, when left quiet on its own, it takes flight and from a helicopter view, we see a much further and wider expanse of our being; starts inventing, circumventing, breaking barriers and doing what we thought could not be done.

    Very artistic ! Adam !
By the way, I like that jiggity-jig you did, collecting your dinner; helluva weird but uplifting ! 😁
I also like your rumba where you circle your arms in tandem with the hip sway side to side on Lay Me Down / Avicii. You’re a very lithe dancer.

I came across my strangely worded poem; the last 2 lines seem clairvoyant…I have no idea why I said : I seem to feel a *worldly change …*diseases … *a boon or bane …looks more a bane than a boon…worldwide. RIP Souls departed.
Adam was speaking on behalf of Elton John regarding his Aids Foundation.

A single red rose pointing to his heart
    From time immemorial…rose means love
Adam dons the rose so beautifully
    It befits him elegantly
Because it comes from his heart
Not relegating my favourite part, brain
    Adam sings:
Tears all fall the same…we all feel the rain…
Aids, so dilapidating; other diseases too
I seem to feel a worldly change, a boon or bane

I just heard Super Dr Fauci say : ‘…*tension…light at the end of the tunnel…reported on CNA Singapore.
I think my CNN Fan is hot on my heels…I used *tension above. Perhaps Dr Fauci likes this inspirational song…with all he’s got to douse the Covid.

I see light…drowning out all the shadows…just fight

    You’re not alone…

    I see light…at the end of the tunnel…just fight…
