NY Times – Welcome to the Age of the Twink“Historically, music’s leading men have been less burdened by stereotypes of masculinity. But if the godfathers of nonbinary pop — from Freddie Mercury to Adam Lambert — paved the way, their personas often came across as glam-rock caricature…as women continue to use their voices to undo that legacy of toxic masculinity, a different kind of change is taking place from within the culture: These twinks, after all, aren’t just enviably lean boys or the latest unrealistic gay fantasy, but a new answer to the problem of what makes a man.”

Variety – Adam Lambert, Troye Sivan, Gay Hitmakers Talk Homophobia in the Industry “James paused and gazed around the restaurant. “There are pioneers here like Adam Lambert, who was just wholeheartedly himself and put his f—ing foot forward and didn’t hold back,” he said. “A lot of people bashed him for what he did, but to be honest, I think if people like him didn’t come around when the conversations were so mum, then we couldn’t have people like Troye or myself.”

The “American Idol” breakout star-turned-solo artist happened to be sitting alone with a forlorn look on his face while the brunch was winding down. Lambert likened his experience coming out to “being thrown into a pot of boiling water. It was a different time,” he told Variety. “When I was getting into music, it felt like an uphill battle. I mean, I don’t think I felt like anybody was blocking me or rejecting me because they actually had an issue with gay people,” Lambert said of his team at the record label. “But there has always been a concern — especially when I started — of: How do we connect this with a mainstream audience? A lot of these guys hadn’t done that before, the label people I was working with at the time. This was a new situation and there was no formula. There was a little fear surrounding that, surrounding the desire for success.”

Admittedly, Lambert battled with internalized homophobia as well. “There were moments after my first year or two on the scene where I started getting insecure,” he said. “I started thinking: ‘Do I need to change who I am to fit in, or to achieve success?’ The thing I’ve learned the hard way is that you can’t please everybody. And ultimately, the people who do well in this business tend to be the people that just are who they are. They’re not trying to be part of a trend or dress like somebody else or become palatable. So now I’m at a point in my career where I’m being true to who I am; I’m being authentic; I’m being myself and not making any apologies for it.”

Billboard – Adam Lambert Talks New Music, Touring With Queen: I’m ‘Somebody Who Wants to Express Himself’ ““Obviously, Queen really inspired me,” he told Attitude magazine of the legendary band he’s fronted since 2009. “I don’t think this album is genre-specific. I think there are a lot of different influences on it,” Lambert added. “There’s rock, there’s FUNK, there’s soul, there’s disco, Seventies singer-songwriter pop and some Eighties flavours, too. That being said, there are a lot of modern influences as well, so it’s sort of a fusion.””

Larry Flick is so happy to have Adam back on his show!

Latest I gleaned from Singapore Straits Times:

Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong will meet with Chairman Kim Jong Un on Sunday/today/10th June, and with President Trump, Monday/tomorrow/11th…separately before actual Summit/Tuesday/12th at Capella Hotel on Sentosa.

Meanwhile, all 60 cannons at Fort Siloso, Sentosa, have been decorated with flowers and olives in a symbolic gesture of peace in honour of the summit on Sentosa.

Really cute! 60 of them. These were the actual cannons pointed at the Singapore harbour/area, used in WWII 1942. Alas, they didn’t manage to prevent Singapore’s downfall because British Lieutenant-General Percival and coalition troops were out-smarted by the Japanese who came in from the north by land not from the south by sea; completely caught off-guard.

Drama unfolds here: Capella Sentosa Hotel

Lucay Run away Run away…is a rather poignant song, relevant to women-subjection or human trafficking. It’s actually Adam’s official song on The Original High (featuring Brian May). Love the Rock arrangement.

Helloo Frank! So nice to see you again. Aha, you got a nice nose job; and ears too. You seem to be wondering about something.

I am somewhat shell-shocked at the enthusiasm the Earthlings display when they see Adam and me as I rise from my tomb. But I feel their love.

    You can feel love?

Yes, I may be a humanoid but I have been programmed in alignment with human emotions.

I see, that’s a good thing because lonely people will at least have somebody tooooo loove…
How is the going so far?

Very good and a lot more cities to visit. See you later, now I have to concentrate on my task at hand.
As you can see…lifting Adam’s er… up and down is heavy-duty.

    So you teleported from Saturn?

No, I came from Mars because I went to take a look at the latest discovery of plausible alien life-forms.

Some organic material which may be an opening to finding alien life-forms have been scooped by the Curiosity rover.

And rendezvousing of a totally different kind…I just watched the Trump-Kim Summit Live, still going on right now on Sentosa Island. Yes, they shook hands on the red-carpet facade of Capella Sentosa, sharp at 9:04 am 12 June 2018.

Great job! Trump! and Kim Jong Un! Singapore is very proud to have the Both of You here working for World Peace!

    A Watershed Handshake…

The Trump-Kim Singapore Summit in my mind is a Humanity issue first and foremost for me, and the Political aspect didn’t even cross my mind! For instance North and South Korea reuniting one day, would allow them to visit one another freely, so beautiful; instead of the wailing/crying each time families get a chance to meet at sporadic, selective reunions. And this snowballing effect may bring about closer ties between China and Japan, instead of viewing each other as adversaries. This Singapore Summit ultimately affects the whole Asian region which in turn affects the World.
Is this just mere politics I’m talking about? People’s lives are at stake here.

Thanks Juneau! Blogger-in-Chief for publishing my above comments, pictures and videos.
