Carson’s Pick Of The Week: Adam Lambert “Ghost Town” “Adam Lambert, we all know him and love him!…Adam stopped by for a visit and says that fans can expect to hear lots of different sounds on his new album. One of those songs with a different sound is “Ghost Town,” and yes, we might have it on repeat and have zero plans to stop listening to it. “Ghost Town” is also Carson’s Pick of the Week.”
My Badass Alter Ego – More on Singing – Part 2 “The sound (or timbre) of a voice is determined by the distance between the vocal cords and the lips, but the shape of that space – the resonance chamber – can be changed, and this adds different harmonics to the sound, inaddition to using the natural resonances that are produced by the different registers of the voice. This is where a trained voice will always have the edge over an untrained voice, as you have been taught how to add colour and resonance. For me, this is the main reason why Adam’s voice sounds so multi-faceted, particularly when you hear it live…I’ve been musing about where Adam’s supertenor range come from? This is only my theory, but I do wonder whether he has an extra section of head register – an extra gear produced by his larynx being able to do another cycle of rise and fall, even when he’s near the top of his voice. I need to research this, so I’ll get back to you!”
Seattle Times – How ‘American Idol’ lost its way “The Season 8 finale would have been a good one to end on. That’s when Adam Lambert, the peacocking glam-rock phenom, was up against Kris Allen, a milquetoast folkie. Picking a side felt important, like a battle in a broader culture war. It reflected something about your identity, or at least about your idea of what you wanted music to represent: adventure vs. safety. Innovation vs. re-creation. The future vs. the status quo.”
American Idol: The Greatest Upset In The History Of The Competition “The closest we have come to a true upset was Kris Allen’s victory over Adam Lambert, but even that isn’t as amazing as what we witnessed tonight. Think about it… Adam Lambert was a dramatic, mascara-wearing west coast pop singer who went head to head with a friendly, Christian, unassuming singer-songwriter from the South…”
6 Clockwork Comedy performers on best, worst things about ‘American Idol’ getting cancelled “Atlanta stand-up comedian Joe Pettis figures the best thing about Fox cancelling “American Idol” is, “I will be less inclined to brag about meeting Adam Lambert.” The flamboyant Lambert, now singing with classic-rock legends Queen, was season eight runner up on the reality TV singing competition, which will finally end after its 15thseason in 2016, Fox announced May 11. ‘Idol” produced legit stars such as Lambert, radio-rocker Chris Daughtry, big-voiced everywoman Kelly Clarkson, R&B talent Jennifer Hudson and seven-time Grammy winner/country superstar Carrie Underwood. It also gave us way too many cover versions of the sappy Aerosmith track “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” And widely propagated the misuse of melisma.”
Master Herald – Adam Lambert Says He Would not be Where He is Now if Not for the Great Run of ‘American Idol!’ “…Adam Lambert only had praises for the show that discovered him and turned him into a music superstar that he is now. Adam Lambert is a runner-up in 2008 during the “American Idol’s” Season 8. One year later, he released his debut studio album titled “For Your Entertainment” and he has since been enjoying superstardom…”
Adam Lambert’s ‘Ghost Town’ beats Madonna namesake on Billboard chart “Adam Lambert has charted higher than Madonna in the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart. The list, which is compiled through US radioplay figures, reveals that Lambert’s ‘Ghost Town’ has debuted at No.35. He has trumped Madonna’s similarly named ‘Ghosttown’, which rests at No.38. Billboard commented: “Unlike certain eventual ghost towns when it came to sparring gunslingers, the Adult Pop Songs chart is big enough for the both of these like-titled songs (word spacing aside).”
Heather Rushworth – Why Adam Lambert is the My Favorite Celebrity (VIDEO) “Adam Lambert stopped by the studio last week for a couple of interviews that I got to produce and record and he was AMAZING! So full love easy-going warm-heartedness. He exudes celebrity appeal. Susan DeVincent and him were instantly the glammiest of friends. Check out the interview here:..” Adam’s single but he mingles!!
