Adam Lambert Week – January 11-17, 2015
There’s no other way to put it. We had official news of Adam’s new label, next single and third album. The UK/European tour launched to great acclaim. And Adam became the first American Idol contestant to return on the other side of the judge’s table. What did we do to deserve so much goodness? Fly Adam! Fly!
“There is a little bit of a daring, deeper internal conflict and poetry about it…Being on stage with Queen and remembering the most important things about music and performance are the most timeless things: it transcends trend and popularity contests. It is more about truth, emotion, honesty and the connection with the audience, the music and the moment.”
Billboard – Exclusive: Adam Lambert Signs New Major Label Deal, Max Martin to Executive Produce Album “As Martin tells Billboard exclusively: “Shellback and I first realized in 2009 that a voice and talent like Adam Lambert’s doesn’t come around very often. We loved the experience and hoped our paths would cross again. So, when Adam came to us with a new opportunity to work together, we leapt at it and even suggested a deeper relationship where we would get the chance to really help define Adam’s music over a whole album. We teamed up with the perfect partner in Warner Brothers and can’t wait for everyone to hear the dynamic album. We are really proud of it and hope you like it as much as we do!””
Billboard – Warner Bros. CEO Cameron Strang on Why He Signed Adam Lambert “I think the potential is worldwide superstar. He has fans all over the world. He’s got one of the great voices and he’s coming into his own as a person and as a man. He is more comfortable with himself and his artistic vision of himself and I think there’s a confidence and a freedom that comes with having made more than one record.”

My mother Carol bate @ukglambert ran a YouTube account which had thousands of views. She supported Adam wholeheartedly here in the UK via her forum http://t.co/6gw3D22KZl
She died four weeks before she could see her idol perform after 5 long years of devotion. Myself and my brother were on Adam’s guest list for the show.

‘American Idol’: Harry Connick Jr. hopes audition changes will create a superstar season 14 “Q: How was Adam Lambert as a guest judge? [He subbed in one day for Keith Urban.] HCJ: He was terrific. It was so cool. I’ve been a fan since he first came on the show. Nobody on the judge’s panel has ever had his perspective. He was able to give some really specific advice that was really valuable. And he’s a really nice guy. Funny and charming. We had a nice time. He is a great talent.”
E! This Video of Adam Lambert’s American Idol Judging Debut Will Slay You “In the clip, Jennifer Lopez gushes about how thrilled she is to have Adam on board–no disrespect to Keith, obvi. And during the auditions process, Jennifer and Harry Connick Jr.challenge Adam to “audition” once more. His choice? “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which he sang in his 2009 audition (along with “Rock With You”), and the results prove the 32-year-old has still got it. Watch for yourself!””
Hartlepool Mail – REVIEW: Queen and Adam Lambert, Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle. “And when you have to step into the shoes of arch prancer and showman Freddie Mercury, the pressure is most certainly pushing down on you. That particular pressure has fallen upon Adam Lambert and I’m happy to report he’s no shrinking violet or pale imitation. The American Idol winner has turned a thankless task into an impressive showcase of a voice that, if not matching Mr Mercury’s, certainly to gives it a run for its money.”
Northern Lights – Review: Queen and Adam Lambert at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena “I want to dispel the myth that Adam Lambert was chosen to replace Freddie Mercury. He made this clear with a touching tribute to the legend himself. “There will only be one Freddie Mercury, ever,” he said to a rapturous applause. And he is right, although Adam Lambert did a cracking job of stepping into those rather large boots. His voice and demeanor appeared to roll back the years, yet he applied his own style to the classic songs. He’s probably as close as you’ll get to Freddie in 2015.”
Musicscramble – Queen + Adam Lambert – SSE Hydro, Glasgow – 14/01/15 “The show was billed as Queen + Adam Lambert, not simply Queen (with a new singer). The reason was obvious from almost as soon as the curtain dropped; Adam Lambert is every much a superstar and accomplished frontman in his own right and deserves the billing. What a show this was, and Adam hasn’t replaced Freddie (nobody could) Yes many parallels can be made, such as his immense vocal range, the over-the-top flamboyance and wit, and that he is every bit the one in a billion find for May and Taylor that Freddie was. Lambert is unique, can sing every note, brings his own personality and charisma, and frankly steals the show.”
Fulltime-Whistle – Live Review: Queen and Adam Lambert WOW at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow “Adam’s stage presence from beginning to end was something that had to be seen to be believed, from the moment he walked out to thousands of screaming Scottish fans, he owned the stage and everyone in the arena.”
