A Glam Nation Thanksgiving (Reprised)

November 28, 2013

Wishing all of you, and especially our Muse Adam, a Happy Thanksgiving!! Here’s a post from 2010 that is well worth sharing again. It beautifully expresses the holiday smorgasbord of emotions and sensations that define the Glamily. We are filled with gratitude for this global community of wonderful humanity. With love, team OMOAL.

A Glam Nation Thanksgiving
(nondenominational irreverence)

Thank you to The Great “I Am”
For Mr. L and all that glam
Blessings on The Powers That Be
For that hot voice that makes us “squeeee”
Thank you, Universal Mind
For thinking up that sweet behind
Higher Power, we give you praise
For all that makes the GB Raise
For smoldering eyes and pouty lips
For bangin’ thighs and sexy hips
For all that beauty, fierce & sweet
For goofy “twats” & awesome “tweets”
For all his savvy and aplomb
And all that charms us “Adam Bombs”

Most of all we ask of Thee
Blessings on our sweet BB
And on our friends whom we adore
All things good and much, much more!

What sprung immediately to mind for a recipe is the following.  And yes, it’s because of the title (middle aged would-be poetess w/one-track mind strikes again).  It’s the legit name of the recipe, which I’ve had for over thirty years.  It was given to me by a kind of a hippy/witchy/new age-y nutritionist, and makes a good-for-you treat, in moderation, naturally.  If I remember correctly, nuts are packed with zinc, which is good for one’s sexual health, among other things. I often drag this recipe out at this time of year – it’s a good party appetizer, treat, or makes a healthy gift.  You need a source of raw nuts, so head to a whole foods market, or health food store…

Hot Nuts! (gotta have the exclaimation point!)

~1 C each raw cashew pieces, walnuts, pecans, almonds, etc. – any raw
nuts, your choice to equal 4 cups.
~ 1 C sunflower seeds, raw, hulled.
~ 1/2 c pumpkin seeds, raw (optional)
~ 1 – 1 1/4 C Picante Sauce, medium, or to taste.
~ 4t paprika (to taste)
~ olive oil

Mix nuts and seeds and mix in enough Picante to thoroughly moisten. Sprinkle w/ 3t of paprika.  Spread evenly on lightly-oiled aluminum foil-lined cookie sheet(s).  Sprinkle with last t of paprika.  Slow roast @ 200 degrees until dry, checking and stirring occasionally. Can turn off oven and leave door ajar at the end until thoroughly dry.

That bad boy video is a great contrast to GLEE and the puppets. I needed that about now, so thanks for posting. They should show it on Glee, might improve their ratings! The group number with the band this episode was clearly planned to focus on Kurt and that’s ok, he’s a central character, but the part with Adam traipsing along behind him through the audience was almost insulting. You could hardly hear Adam. In all fairness, though, the show did give Adam a huge spotlight in MARRY THE NIGHT Now just give him another!!
