Art and Medicine – When Great Things Happen To Good People  Artistsupporter’s blog post about the iHeart Radio concert. “…the pinnacle of the experience for me was one of the most beautiful live vocal performances I’ve ever heard; Who Wants To Live Forever.  As Adam powerfully executed those bell clear high notes like only he can, I heard actual gasps around me.  The unison of the audience as their voices joined in unison with Adam’s on the chorus made my heart soar.  Everyone around me was engaged, transfixed, as this experience washed over them.  Tears began to well up in my eyes.  I had palpable hope and joy that finally Adam’s own country would get it.  Even now, as I remember the experience, I get misty eyed.  Could this lovely, epically talented man finally be getting the love and respect he so richly deserves?  I felt the hope arise in me anew…”

Digital Journal – Review: Adam Lambert and Queen mesmerize at iHeartRadio Music Festival  “Adam Lambert commanded the iHeartRadio Music Festival stage extremely well and it was the perfect tribute to Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Brian May and Roger Taylor. He put on a flawless concert and it was a standout set from this year’s music festival. Their late front-man Freddie Mercury would have been proud of his spell-binding performance. Lambert proved yet again that he is one of the most underrated male vocalists in contemporary music.”

Las Vegas Guardian Express – Adam Lambert and Queen Rock the iHeartRadio Festival “Donned in black, filled with musical prowess, Lambert ruled the stage with his presence and vocals. Glamberts were thrilled to see their iconic singer mark the stage with legendary Queen. What makes Queen so super-cool is their response to the Lambert that is Adam. Brian May stated that Lambert has a “beautiful tone” that complements the band’s material. Additionally, May added that Lambert “has the passion,” the humor and an enjoyable level of campiness. Fans would agree wholeheartedly.”

Lambosessed – QUEENBERT IHEARTRADIO FESTIVAL LAS VEGAS “Who Wants To Live Forever brings an abrupt change to the mood of the set. Super dramatic from very soft and whispery to strong, powerful and operatic, Adam’s voice seems limitless as he glides effortlessly between its many different shades and facets. He gives me goosebumps galore, especially at the climax which I will to keep going. You cannot fail to be moved by this and the emotion behind it. It’s spellbinding. I watch and listen in awe, astounded all over again by his mastery of his phenomenal voice. I already feel from this concert that he’s reached a new level, above everything else so far and it makes me proud to see him strive to keep improving when there’s so little room for it. It could just be the quality of the recordings but it sounds to me that the difference between this and last year’s Queenbert is considerable. ”

Mail Online – From boy wizard to Killer Queen? Daniel Radcliffe slated to replace Sacha Baron Cohen in new Freddie Mercury biopic  “It was previously written on Twitter: ‘Makers of the Freddie Mercury biopic tell the BBC the film is “still very much alive” despite writer Peter Morgan’s claims to the contrary.’ Meanwhile, American Idol alum Adam Lambert wowed fans as he took to the stage with Queen to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday.”  Love how they used this quasi-story to pimp Adam!

Haut Living – Celebrity Spotting: Katy Perry, Muse, Adam Lambert and More Party at Botero and XS “The group gathered at Botero at Encore Las Vegas with Perry making her appearance shortly after 12:30 a.m. The party dined buffet-style on the patio. Adam Lambert, Queen guitarist Brian May, Kate Hudson, Matthew Bellamy and Nick Hissom were included in the group of 50 friends who joined in the celebration. Steve and Andrea Wynn also joined in the festivities.”

Stephanie Wood: Great fan vid that shows some of Adam’s ‘moves’ that the iHeart camera missed

I noticed that Brian rushed to acknowledge Adam at the end of the concert. It appeared to be as a direct result of Adam acknowledging Queen so many times during the 6 summer concerts last year. I liked last year’s performances better than this one because Adam went all out then. This time he was more reserved, probably due to the smaller venue. If anyone hasn’t seen the 2012 shows with Queen, seek them out on Youtube.

I was there and believe me Adam’s performance was superb and more macho which is something Adam can pull off very well! There is no comparison with 2012 which is a 2-1/2 hour Queen + Adam show. This medley with single solos was just what the crowd of multi-genre fans needed. It could not have been better!

From Roger Taylor – ” He slips into it more easily. Paul has a perfect blues and soul voice, but our songs are big and, dare I say it, theatrical, and Adam fits that more easily. We’ve not discussed making an album, but Adam is closer to Freddie, Paul was macho, but Adam’s a diva. His range is staggering.”
THERE, CASE CLOSED! I don’t want to read another negative on-line comment about Adam & Queen!!
