TowleRoad – Adam Lambert Sings National Anthem at Record-Breaking ‘Broadway Bares’: VIDEO “With this year’s record total, the 23 editions of BROADWAY BARES have now raised more than $11.3 million for Broadway Cares. Last year’s 22nd edition of BROADWAY BARES raised $1,254,176. BROADWAY BARES started in 1992 and featured seven dancers stripping on a bar, raising about $8,000. This year’s edition of BROADWAY BARES was directed by Nick Kenkel (Catch Me If You Can, Peepshow, Legally Blonde).BROADWAY BARES was created by Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots) who serves as executive producer. It was produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS led by Producing Director Michael Graziano. Watch a (partial) video of Adam Lambert’s stunning rendition the National Anthem at Broadway Bares 23…” And the comments section – is the hater:lover ratio declining? Seems that way.

NewNowNext – Adam Lambert, Michael Stipe “Shred Of Hope” T-Shirts Drawing Big Bids At Auction “Bids on Lambert’s shirt have topped $2,400 while Michael Stipe’s tee has surpassed the $2025 mark. Other big pulls include Andy Cohen ($660) and Scissors Sister’s Babydaddy ($600). Almost all the shirts—provided by Chelsea clothier Nasty Pig—are bidding over $200 but considering their uniqueness, the celebrity cache and the good cause they support—it’s money well spent.”

Modern Salon – Tad Greene’s Adam Lambert Inspired Do “Make Up Artist Tad Greene walks the streets of NY with a chic, futuristic, modified MoHawk. People stop him and ask to check it out or to take pictures. “I’m always trying new things,” he says. “Sometimes I look back and realize I looked a bit crazy, but who cares?” Right now his look is NOT crazy, but really fun and although strong, still earns lots of attention. When he walked in to Modern’s studios, we all just HAD TO KNOW…”What made you decide to go bold?””

I love how you have people saying ADam needed to sing the SSB with respect and hold back….It is such a show of their hypocracy…for no one said this when Whitney blasted it or Patty, or Mariah, or Marvin changed it up, or Carrie, or Hendrix played it fiercely on his electric guitar. What a bunch of idiot haters these people are…The only reason they are saying this is because he is a gay man with the most amazing voice of today…period.

For Auld Lang Syne (four years ago? Holy Moley…) The cover was the intro of the poetry muse into my life, at least for a brief moment. My apologies that there’s no nipple revision.

Ode to the Cover: Issue 1081
By a Woman of a Certain Age
    June, 2009

Buy a copy. No, buy three,
One for me… and one for me,
And one for fellow lady frien’
Who might not get to B & N
Before the final one is gone
    (shortly after break of dawn)

He’s got the voice that makes our hearts
Race with lust, tho’ we’re old farts.
    Golden piped and glittered eye,
    Chiseled features, pythoned thigh,
Who’d think that hot could be so sweet?
Rather knocks us off our feet.

    Merchandisers, use your heads:
Make life-size prints to hang by beds.
And then, thou Beauteous Glamboy Rage
Hither come: Step off the page.

(to celebrate the “Rolling Stone” cover)

That Rolling Stone cover was the perfect article and the perfect cover at the perfect time. I just don’t understand why he hasn’t been on there again.

I often think he is too much for anyone to know what to do with.

Almost anything that Adam has done, he has to reel it in, hold back, not upstage others. Even when he performs with Queen he has to step aside and give Brian and Roger a chance to show their stuff.

The GNT was all Adam, doing it his way. It was a spectacle and it was a success but because he held back and only did small to medium venues he never had the chance to be introduced to new fans.

I hope that the next chapter finds Adam the perfect time and place to launch into ALL that he is and ALL that he deserves.
