That’s the best video of the Highline Ballroom WLL I’ve ever seen! It was such a wild performance, I was sick I missed it, and then found the videos so poor. Is it Lambossessed I should be thanking for the video? Well, I will anyway. THANK THANK YOU!! And thanks for posting, dear bloggers.
I’m such a worry wart. Adam’s going to make it in his own way one way or another. Still, it makes me mad if 19 doesn’t even show his photo.
Anyone else see IDOL tonight? In all the quick opening shots of former successful IDOLS, I didn’t spot Adam. Maybe I missed him, but IDOL is owned by Entertainment 19 which he parted ways with, so I’m wondering if they’ve deleted him which might mean unlikely he’ll sing on the show again. Maybe it’s a good thing for his career if he’s not so associated with IDOL anymore, but being on IDOL every so often sure makes for good visibility.
Will never watch that show ever again … after not hiring Adam ? Ef em.
I’m not a good boycotter. Wanted to check out Mariah and Micky Minaj. They were playing the bitchy diva thing to the hilt as set up by all the pre-show publicity. Really stupid and forget it.
Ok I was wrong about an Adam photo or video not appearing at the top of IDOL last night. Just read today’s blog and Jenny York tweeted that when Seacrest announced “Idol legends”, they included a clip of Adam at his audition. So guess they’re not so stupid as to not claim him as one of theirs.
I’m actually done with all of those shows, don’t hold my interest anymore.

Whoever it was, thank you for making my day! I was there with you both and it is such a blur, i just remember that we felt like we had been made love to by AFL, it was sweet & exhausting.
But what I see from revisiting it 3 years later is how it was such a break-out moment. Wasn’t this the first post Idol Tour concert? He was still with Kris & Alison, but he was free from Idol and he was determined to be, finally, gay sexy outrageous Adam. I don’t remember another performance where he was so “out there”, even at Fantasy Springs! He was more controlled and purposefully sexy, here he was totally let loose. Never did another face smear, or lick a camera, or allow a “grab”, right? Think maybe someone gave him a “talk” after this?
All I know, it was a highlight of my life, my night at the Highline 😉
Really interesting analysis, Elkat. I didn’t even see a video of Highline until this year (again, I’m SO appreciative of this one),so didn’t realize Highline was so break-through, but in thinking back through a lot of the videos of concerts plus numerous live performances, what you say makes so much sense. He must have had had a good talking-to by the powers that be after Highline. The only other theory I can come up with is that he was on something, though my sense is that Adam is very careful to not mix alcohol/drugs with performances. And after reading your comment about the difference between Highline and Fantasy Springs performances–and even though Fantasy Springs was great– you’re very observant to notice that Highline was looser. Highline was in a different realm from other performances. So thanks!
ElKat–Hope you saw my comment about your own comments on Highline concert. Brilliant what you figured out. And if I could wish for something extravagant right now, it would be that I could go back in time to experience that break-through moment.
