Donate to Adam’s charity:water campaign

Holy sh*t!! Only 13 days left and the needle has not moved for many weeks! Time for a big push so we can reach the $100,000 goal!!

Glambertinas help in every way they can!  New fundraiser from our friend Bonnie aka AdamsBonBon @bonniedesa:

I have 8 Trespassing bangle bracelets leftover from ones I made for the Six Flags event that I attended. They are handmade from polymer clay with the black and yellow/gold colors of the new album. I will continue to offer them to fans in exchange for a donation of $10 for each bracelet ordered to Charity:Water to help make our goal.

Just email  that you will be making a donation and I will set one aside. When you have made the donation, email with the size and your mailing address. To figure your approximate size, take a strip of paper and wrap it around your knuckle area, making a tight fist with your thumb on the inside (it doesn’t need to be exact — I just want to make sure what I send you won’t easily slip off). Fold the strip where the ends meet and measure it. (I have small hands and wrists and mine measured 8 1/4″.)

Yesterday (June 18) the music video for Adam Lambert’s new single “Never Close Our Eyes” went in at No 4 in the latest MTV “10 On Top” countdown of hot, new talent. Check out video HERE

U.K. Glamberts!!! Well done to get Adam on the Graham Norton Show! BBC1 On Friday June 22 10:35-11:20 pm and then again on Monday June 25th.

Adam resplendent in a very contemporary version of a 1940’s suit with stagy sharkskin finish of the ’50’s.  A jacket in that Hugo Boss boxy cut of the 1980’s with wider lapels and shoulder pads – only works on the tall & skinny mod bod!  Trousers – also flashback ’40’s & dancing ’80’s!  The hair & accessories restrained to highlight the details of that stunning jacket.  Now, about the shoes Adam…..did you try on a pair of Savile Row leather wing tips?

Here’s the entire episode. Hilarious!!

Check it out! 3-D pics of Adam hard at work rehearsing with Queen!!!  We are E-N-V-I-O-U-S of all those going to see one of these sure to be specatular shows!

Tommy Joe Ratliff chats to Pressparty about his “amazing” fans, his journey with Adam Lambert and his career highlights to date

Juneau was busy on a secret mission last week and wasn’t able to get Daily Updates out. Our apologies. She’s back briefly but will be in London this week, so coverage may be spotty! We’re posting press and blog stories from Thursday-Saturday to catch up.

Digital Spy – Adam Lambert: ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ – Single review “Mars’s lyrics provide the fist-clenching emotion (“There’s plenty of time to sleep when we die/ So let’s just stay awake until we grow older”), Luke’s throbbing beats and squelchy synths ensure it’s tailored to the dancefloor, and Lambert supplies plenty of drama with a growly vocal. The result, as you might expect, is near pop perfection.”

PressParty – Sam Sparro on Adam Lambert’s comments that gay pop stars don’t get enough acceptance “Sam Sparro has revealed that he agrees with Adam Lambert’s recent comments that gay pop stars don’t get enough acceptance…”I love his new album – it’s a great pop album. I’m so pleased it’s topped the charts in America, and I hope it connects with the UK because he deserves it.”

Capital FM – Adam Lambert’s New Album ‘Trespassing’ And Single For July Release “‘Never Close Our Eyes’ was released as the record’s second single in US and received an overwhelmingly positive reception from critics…Earlier this week Adam Lambert was named the world’s sexiest male by Billboard, ahead of Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine, Justin Bieber and Enrique Iglesias.”

Gather – Adam Lambert UK ‘Trespassing’ Release Date Delayed “Adam’s UK publicist tweeted today, “Adam Lambert releases new single Never Close Our Eyes on July 8th in the UK. The US number one album Trespassing follows on July 9th.” According to earlier press releases, the single was originally slated for a release on June 24 and the album on July 2. No reason has been given for the delay. However, although fans will have to wait an extra week for the album, there is good news in that the date for Adam’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show has now been confirmed for June 22.

Gather – Adam Lambert Hits 1.5 Million Twitter Followers! “Based on number of followers, Adam is among the top 600 most popular Twitter users. Of course, Adam will need a huge influx of followers if he is ever going to reach the queen and king of Twitter – Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, who both have more than 20 million followers. But making the top 600 is a huge accomplishment, given the millions of users on Twitter.”

4Music – Adam talks to us about Queen, American Idol, being a role model and his school days (VIDEO) “We have to admit it, we were all a little starstruck when Adam Lambert took over our Twitter account and popped into the offices for a chat. The raven-haired singer with the piercing blue eyes, is just as striking in the flesh as he is in his press pictures.”

Concert Tour – ALBUM REVIEW: ADAM LAMBERT ‘TRESPASSING’ A hot mess of a review by a critic who is won over by Adam but not so much by the album. “For every moment that seems a bit out of place or contrived, there is a sexiness which hits the target perfectly. Adam exudes confidence throughout, and come the day that he does break free of all expectations he really stands to be a force. He’s not quite at that point yet, but he’s surely making great, big strides.”

PopMatters – Adam Lambert: Trespassing A critical review, but a thoughtful one, even if he refers to Adam’s wails as “screeches”. “If Season Eight—or Idol itself—is remembered artistically centuries from now, it’ll be for Glambert’s performances. After the season ended, the question—the worry—became, “How does he translate this persona into a recording career?”…So unfortunately, the answer to that worried question remains, “He hasn’t figured it out yet”. Like his first album For Your EntertainmentTrespassing disappoints because it’s Lambert playing on pop’s terms and sometimes narrowing the terms unnecessarily…So while I’m rooting for the guy and his amazingly versatile screeches, he still doesn’t know how to make pop music work for him, rather than the other way around…”

I would like a discussion here (or on the blog radio? – even tho it seems I can never stay up late Wed. nights, ha!) about the issues raised in the Popmatters review and more importantly, all the responses. I’m getting really weary of the attacks by Adam’s fans (yep, I just said that) on these blogs/reviews. Yes, I know Adam’s fans are passionate, blah, blah, blah…. I feel like sometimes some are guilty of exactly what they claim the reviewers are guilty of: misinterpretation and jumping to conclusions, and there seems to be a reaction that is a kind of conditioned response, based on the “party line”. I don’t get the homophobia, etc., people are lobbying his way. Or am I being obtuse? I don’t know. The guy is allowed to have an opinion on these songs. He wasn’t putting it down for not being too gay or not gay enough. He was reviewing it on the merits as far as I could tell – and it was from HIS own point of view, as is the case in every other review (and incidentally, judging from what I’ve seen and heard, many fans privately agree with some of what he says). But I guess, like beauty, the message is in the ear of the beholder sometimes. “You hear what you wanna hear” * (lol – does that make any sense? Not sure I know how to articulate it, if I find a better wording I will share).
Another question/issue raised in the comments – there was a lot of hand-wringing over the metascore – I wonder how many people, the everyday music consumers who make up the bulk of music sales, even know this exists? I never heard of it before I started following Adam and his career. Now that I do know about this metric, as well as all the others, my M.O. for deciding whether to buy an album will be…well, the same: I listen to the entire album of song snippets (back in the day you couldn’t do that on your own, now you can – yay!) and decide if I like the music enough to buy it. Do a lot of people check out this score and base their decision solely on it?
What is it about Adam that compels these intense discussions!! haha! It ain’t that deep…sometimes.

*Nilsson’s “The Point” – anyone remember that? 🙂

I second everything you say, and would love to have a radio show discussion about this. If you can stay up late enough, you’d be the perfect guest! Many of the fan comments on that Popmatters review just made me cringe. The reviewer obviously admires Adam’s talent and feels he could push himself further, to push Pop into more transgressive realms. I think it’s constructive criticism, and for fans to lob unfounded accusations of homophobia, rockphilia, etc., only undermines the fans’ credibility.

I’m similarly puzzled regarding Metascore. I never heard of it before, but I don’t know enough to say what kind of readership it receives or how influential it is with regard to determining sales.

Why does Adam compel such intensity? I think it has more to do with how much people are personally invested in seeing Adam succeed. His success validates their own obsession with him. Not a healthy thing, but I get it!

Well, maybe I can sacrifice some sleep one night to stay up for a radio show, I guess. (I’ll just pray for a rainy forecast for the following day, which means no early row).
I can’t guarantee how articulate I will be tho! Live radio, I won’t have the benefit of aggressive editing! 😉

I agree with your reply to Dori. Regarding your last paragraph, how true. I keep praying for ADAM’s success so I can relax, rest and enjoy his sweet success and have more time to enjoy away from my laptop.
