We’d planned our trip a year ago. We were going to be in Las Vegas (the place we got married) on 9/25, the day of our 17th wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday. All was set, until I received the invitation for the PFLAG LA event honoring  Adam and Leila Lambert for the week we were scheduled to leave. I checked and was able to change our air, multiple hotels, show tickets, etc.

After a drive up into the hills & clearing the security gate, we arrived at the site of the party in Beverly Hills. We valet parked our car & went inside. Our beautiful  hostess and the wonderful PFLAG staff gave us a warm welcome.

The Krol home was exquisite in every detail. We proceeded to the backyard where we were directed  to the bar.  We stepped out into the enchanted garden and it was gorgeous.  The lovely landscaping included trees and flowers accented by white lights. The pool had white balloons floating in it and was surrounded by tables draped with lavender cloths and flowers.  Wait staff passed hors d’oeuvres and the Krol vodka was flowing.  It was an intimate gathering of around 100 people to honor Adam and Leila Lambert and to support  PFLAG. We enjoyed meeting some fun and interesting people and savored the great atmosphere.

Suddenly I sensed that Adam was there and turned toward the entry. He and Leila had just arrived and Adam was towering over the others in the foyer. I took Jim’s hand and we headed to say hello to Adam. We entered the house but were  a room away when Adam saw me, smiled and said hi. Adam and Leila were being greeted by the PFLAG staff & hosts. We waited our turn to see them. Adam thanked us for coming and wished us a happy anniversary and Jim a happy birthday. We took pictures and talked about equality, his new music, Sauli, fashion. It was amazing to spend three hours in Adam’s presence. The more I see him, the more I love and respect him.

It’s  very touching to see Adam and Leila together . They are so happy and loving toward each other and it was wonderful  to see them accept their PFLAG awards.

We had the opportunity to talk to them a few more times and I’m thankful I was able to say goodbye to Adam and get a hug before he left.

We are always happy to support Adam’s causes and will treasure the memories of that night forever.

I hope that you enjoy the pictures from this very special evening in the enchanted garden.

So, until the next Glamventure.  Peace, Love and Equality…

Congrats that you had an invitation to this event with Adam and his mother. However, I am wondering how you got an invitation? Most people would love to have been invited to this event to be in the presence of Adam. Anyway, glad you were there to witness him and his mom receiving their recognition and awards.

Such a wonderful honor for Adam and Leila: two very deserving and beautiful human beings. I so admire both of them on a multitude of levels. Thank you Julie for once again making me feel as if I was there…Goosebumps!! What a fabulous way to celebrate your anniversary and Jim’s birthday! Las Vegas will always be there, but this event/opportunity occurs only once in a lifetime! And thank you for sharing your experience and gorgeous pictures with us.
