We’ve added a discussion of Adam’s Aftermath remix for the Trevor Project.  Listen here!

This week’s guest is Radio Host Rich Appel who has joined us before – he’s an Adam Lambert fan too!  Last week, we were guests on Rich’s show to talk “American Idol” and we’ll just have to talk about Wednesday night’s performances with him.

Rich has spent his career in media – radio, television and music – and currently hosts New Jersey classic rock radio station WRNJ‘s The Rest of the Week show on Saturdays 9AM – 1PM. He is also the co-writer of Book of Days: 60s and Book of Days: 70s, two fun reviews of each decade’s pop culture.

On Wednesday we will hear about Rich’s fascinating promotion and a conversation about his latest provocative newsletter – links are below.

For most of us, growing up has been marked by one technology naturally replacing another. Each time that happened, the benefits of the replaced technology remained intact. With cable television, you could still watch broadcast channels 2-83; with a touch-tone phone, you could still call the same friends and loved ones.

Some would say that what music-driven radio is moving towards and what could replace it – follows the same path. But there’s a crucial difference: music.

Read the full article in Rich’s newsletter, Hz So Good. Here’s an excertp:

If you’ve ever heard a song and said “THAT really shoulda been a top 10 hit,” have we got a list for you. Or we will, once you help create it.

Since 2008, Hz So Good‘s I.R.S. (as in, “IReally Shoulda” been a top 10 hit) has ranked those “shoulda beens,” based on your filed returns.

Now comes the part where you say, “I was wondering when that was going to happen again. How do I file?” Everyone should be so excited about that other I.R.S.

Need another reason to file? How about, random returns will receive “refunds” in the form of either merch from, CDs, and for a few very lucky ones, a CD set of this year’s I.R.S. Top 104.

The 4th annual I.R.S. Top 104 will appear in the Hz So Good out just before tax deadline time, and counted down on Bob Radil’s Friday Night show on, and on my Saturday show, “The Rest of the Week with Rich Appel,” on (details forthcoming). So you’ve got a few more weeks left to file.

Oh, and if you missed the latest Hz, you can read it here.

How do I put in a special request for a fundraiser I am involved with? Is there an address or phone number I can call to talk to someone about donating a book for auction?
