Jessi Kimsey, rest in peace

February 10, 2011

Tragic news this morning from almondglaze: “Hate to bring sad news on an epic day, but this was a sad Adam morning in Atlanta on Q100. The little sick girl that Adam called, Jessie, passed away Tuesday. They talked about her and Adam a long time this morning on the Bert Show. They talked about what a huge fan of Adam’s she was. They played her and her sister singing IIHY again. They played Adam’s phone message to her and talked about how she immediately perked up and what a great and sweet person he was. They announced that she passed away listening to Adam’s music. I lost it. So one of the women suggested that they play one of Adam’s songs in her memory. They took some calls and one person said they needed to hurry up and just play Adam’s song. So they played IIHY and then right behind it played her and her sister singing it again. So, so emotional.”

Jessi Kimsey, Q100

Here is the Bert Show episode about Adam’s phone message to Jessi: “Bert’s Big Adventure Child Jessi Gets A Surprise From Adam Lambert.” On February 10, the Bert Show aired their tribute to Jessi:

We Remember Bert’s Big Adventure Child Jessi Kimsey

This news makes me so sad. I’m in tears. Now Jessi can visit and watch Adam perform anytime she wants to. Knowing that Jessi was listening to Adam’s voice when it was her time to go home is very comforting. Jessi’s family is in my prayers.

Grief for a child is like no other, the journey no one wants to take. I am so very sorry.

Thank you. I don’t cry as often, but I still hurt. She was a special person that touched so many lives that her visitation took hours and I kept having to ask who people were as I did not know them. Teachers from her school that taught grades she never made it to, janitors, nurses, etc. It was amazing how many people she touched in such a short life. I wish I knew what all she could’ve done if she’d made it just a little bit longer.

Jessi’s story had touched my heart since the first time I heard about her getting the message from Adam. Now I’m lost and can’t think of any proper words to say to her family, my heart is in pain to hear this tragic news. Jessi, you’ll be always remembered and loved in this circle of our Glamily. Jessi, little angel, please watch over Adam from the heaven you are now. I’m in tears writing this message. RIP.
