Food and Physique – Advanced (Profs. EKA and J. Underwood assisted by all faculty). Science and esthetics come together in the art of healthy cuisine and maintaining a gorgeous, love-ready bod. In this course, students will be challenged to take a set of raw ingredients and transform them into a sensuous feast capable of seducing the most hesitant of lovers. Past challenges have included meals comprised entirely of zucchini, another restricted to foods with negative calories, and a meal comprised of gonads. La pièce de résistance: Rocky Mountain Oysters Flambé, or “Your Sex Is on Fire.” Not for the faint of heart. Biology is a prerequisite. Each class ends with a session of 200 stomach crunches and 100 push-ups, assisted by the professor. Final project: “Fruits avec Chocolat Chaud sur Crème Frappé” dessert or breakfast in bed or midnight snack. Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and pineapple dipped in luscious warm chocolate and then finished with a gob of whipped cream. Extra credit: Use methods of molecular gastronomy to transubstantiate the above dessert into a form that will float in warm, scented bathwater (no Jacuzzi).
