Monte & Tommy – The Interviews Part 2

September 4, 2010
Attempting a Smooth Landing

Don’t know if it was the dirtiest of martinis drying out Monte’s sense of humour when he veered off course in a verbal desert dune buggy, raising dust with deadpan delivery, firing off answers in great detail and so much information, we had to look it up!  (See Intergalactic Glossary below.)

By the time he finished his very candid Madonna story, we were fully Montefied.   As anyone who has felt Adam Lambert’s erotic Force realizes, sexuality is indeed fluid – and in our case, two hetero women morphed into two straight men….

Sweet young man that he is, Tommy coolly sipped his ice-filled cocktail while Monte riffed and we laughed. TJR showed concern for the senior colleague’s image as he adjusted the computer to show Monte at his best.  Ultimately it was Tommy who rallied the troops to catch the last bus to Cohasset.  We were promised a second session, yet they managed to evade us for the next two concerts.  We should have changed up our disguises.

We forgot to include one very important credit – Cinematography by Monte Pittman, with assistance by Tommy Joe Ratliff.

Where is Lee Cherry when you need him for a photo?

Juneau gets the kisses

Xena gets taken….. seriously? Smile!

Later at another party………….

P.S. We should have known that Monte was onto us. The first indication was when he let slip the George Lucas joke (see Part 1 of the interview). Then he sent this message, via Lisa:

you had to look up joe santriani?

monte is the drollest of the droll, as well as being a seriously kick-ass guitarist.

sometimes i wish would metal out during the interlude (example in the studio:, just to see the reaction.

HI celtcwrtr, thanks so much for that wonderful video. Great to watch and listen to Monte, Longineu and Tommy when we’re not there. It would be a blast to enjoy this in the interlude or somewhere in the concert!

As to providing the links, we have a very broad readership and not everyone is in tune with the “who’s who” of professional musicians but their expertise lies in other areas and that includes me. However, most of our readers are curious and keen to know more, as we are.

The glossary is also for the benefit of intergalactic visitors. I’m sure there are some who are fans of Adam out there…

I’m a little late to the party, but I just finished watching your fabulous impromptu interview with Monte & Tommy. Thanks so much for doing this and for sharing it with all of us Glambertinas. You two are the best :0) !! *throws glitter everywhere*
