If he couldn’t have made it in the music industry, he could have been a model. The guy is gorgeous!

I can’t help but think that Adam borrowed some clothes from Bruno Mars for his performance at the Royal Albert LOL.

    Ladies,

Our family watched the X Factor auditions live auditions today. It was really interesting, even though we saw only about 16 people audition. Out of these, the judges said yes to five, which I thought was kind of high. I just couldn’t stand it when the audience booed, or the judges made an unkind comment (even though they were fairly polite). Simon Cowell was sick, so it was Brittney Spears, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid, and one of the British X Factor judges-Louie something.
There were some good voices, a few really good voices, some so/so. But I just wanted to hear someone who was almost as good as Adam. And no one is! I just longed to see him. (Even though I wouldn’t EVER wish him back in a singing competition. Ever. But when I was watching everyone else, it made me miss him. I’m so glad he’s so happy and doing so well. And I feel so fortunate that I got to watch him on Idol. Otherwise, I would have never heard of him, and my life would be poorer for it.

IsabelR It must have been very interesting to see the show in person. I do know what you mean about missing Adam. I always feel so nostalgic when I watch the old Idol performances. I felt that I had my own private obsession with him. It was exciting and exhilarating and confusing at the same time. Now I have to share him with the world. So happy for him, and yes, my life too would be so much poorer without him.

      RosemaryM,
Every performance by anybody, anytime, reminds me of Adam. I wonder how long it will be like that. Four years? 30? Who knows-maybe forever.

I know what you mean. I’ll be in the car listening to the radio and I’m always vaguely annoyed that what I’m listening to isn’t Adam.

          N.Cat,
I am too. I want Adam to sing his songs AND their songs! I remember that one of us was talking about Jason Mraz’s song “I Won’t Give Up”. It’s a lovely song, and he sings it well-but I want Adam to sing it.

I think my husband is getting sick of me constantly saying that the artist doesn’t have a trained voice, is using too much autotune, etc. etc. etc., when we’re in the car listening to pop radio. I try not to use the name “Adam” or make any comparison, but it’s so tempting. He should just clone himself and take over the airways. Then we’d all be happy.

Oh. I am guilty of doing the same thing. I can’t help it that most singers sound bad singing live, now can I?

    Juneau,
Congrats on DD’s graduation! I bet she is so happy. But you’ll miss her so much next year. I’m going to cry my eyes out when my DD graduates next year.
Hopefully she won’t go to college all the way across the country from you.
I’m sure it will be a proud moment today.

Thanks Isabel! My DH was crying his eyes out for the whole two hours! The rabbi who is the head of school gave a remarkable speech. We’ll not only miss having our daughter at home, we’ll miss the school community. Bittersweet indeed. xox J

J, It is a bittersweet moment but this prepares you for dropping her off at school and saying goodbye which was the hardest time for me. I’m preparing myself now for my DD and SIL to move across the country which is the exact thing I did to my parents so I can’t complain but I can still be sad. :(

I had minor knee surgery last week and visitors so I’ve been away from the blog for awhile. So many videos to see!! The radio show with Michael was fantastic. Thanks again for all that you and X do for the fandom!! xo

          Pumpkit,
I’m glad the surgery went ok. And it’s nice to come back to lots of videos to watch.
I hope my kids don’t move far away, but I’m sure at least some of them will.
My oldest DD wants to go to college in Chicago-that’s not too far. (And we have family there.)

        • June 11, 2012 9:10 pm

Congratulations J on your DD graduation! So glad your surgery is over pumpkin and you are on the mend. The funny thing about kids going far away and those staying close by, is that sometimes you see them the same amount of time. I remember having to adjust to them being away, and then when they came back, it was waiting up again for them to come home. I guess being a parent is all about adjusting to whatever situation arises.

Hey, Pumpkit, hope you’re on the mend.

Boy is this a good video. I’m sure you’ve all seen this already: Adam on the F Word:

Thanks NS. I’m on the mend but moving slowly!! Can’t wait to hear about your UK adventure!!!! This is another great interview. Music Choice was wise to have Adam be their inaugural guest on their new series. He has an interesting story and he tells it with such honesty and wit which isn’t easy to pull off!!

Are my ears getting funny or does Adam have a slight lisp in this video. I’ve noticed it occasionally in other videos. He doesn’t always have it, so I wonder if it’s a temporary thing, e.g. if he sometimes wears a retainer or something. Yes, another deep question of the day about Adam! – J
