Testamonial ! Many of you know my DH has an excellent ear and great taste in music. Well, today we had to take an hour drive and he suggested I bring Trespassing so he could hear it.
HE LOVED IT !!!! ” No, tell me the truth, what did you think ?” “I’m telling you, it is a great album, very professional, the sound engineering is really good. Adam sounded great, I really like the songs”

But I have a plan. When we go to the beach in July everyone will be there, and whenever I am in the kitchen Trespassing will be playing, nice and loud, mom will be dancing, making great food, and getting everyone to help … And before you know it we will ALL be dancing and singing … And I will be smiling. Think it will work ?
Sorry, to answer your question, no, he has not heard it, he is out on tour and doesn’t listen to pop radio.
BUT, my other son, the bass player, called me a week or so ago and told me that he and his girlfriend were flipping the channel on her TV and came across the Behind the Music -Adam Lambert and they watched it !! He was so happy to tell me ! I told him about the great reviews coming for the album and sent him the Nile Rogers/Shady video. A bit of priming for the beach.

I know, el Kat. People are excited to tell you about their Adam sightings. My hairdresser texted me about his being on GMA. I had to laugh as of course I was up taping!
And sneaking the music in is perfect. Takes away the “mom’s guy” to hey, I like this song!

Your DH will forever remain a Glambertina favorite and the fact that he appreciates Tresspassing makes him even more highly regarded!!!! My DH didn’t ask to listen to Tresspassing but had no choice this weekend! He agrees with J’s daughter and likes Outlaws of Love the best so far.
Your DH has great taste– as if that wasn’t obvious, since he married you!
It’s so wonderful to hear our nearest and dearest praising Trespassing, not just putting up with. My DH listened to the album and loved it too. He wasn’t a big fan of the first album- loves Adam’s voice, but that wasn’t the music he wanted to hear from him. I noticed that he marked Runnin with 5 stars, so it went into his favorites playlist and he plays it a lot.
Today is our wedding anniversary– 29 years married and still going strong!

I’m finding that Runnin is really grabbing me, 15-20 times through the album and that one still a favorite, along with Naked Love, Broken English, Shady, and ever since someone said that Take Back sounds like it was written from that jail cell I”m liking it !!

Thanks, guys!! Not celebrating so much, just exchanged mushy cards and having one of our favorite dinners. For us every day is a celebration, corny as that may sound.

I think I got a reply tweet from Adam L. I said, ” I think Jessica needs some time.” His response as you can see was, “My opinions aren’t always diplomatic.” I’m not a twitter person. Just started playing around with it for one reason or the other. Was this a reply to me?
Your comment was a little hard to figure out. I’m glad you’re jumping into twitter cause it can be fun. If anyone, including Adam responds to you directly, there will be an @(yourtwittername). I think that particular response was directed at all his followers who were giving him their opinions. But keep it up. He does read a lot of our tweets!

Cimi, it takes a little time to get the hang of it on twitter. I look at my twitter account at least once a day but it can be addicting so I try to stay away

I don’t think that tweet from Adam was a reply to anyone, actually. If he replied to you your @ name would be included in the tweet and the tweet would appear in his feed as well as yours. Sorry, I have probably confused you more, lol.
I have learned new things about myself and fandom and about fan wars and skewed polls and rankings. i don’t like most of what I have learned. And some of it I knew but have to revisit. Why can’t we learn our lessons the first time? I have to process a bit and I’m sure we all will be discussing in the coming days. Love you guys

I’m guessing that the “Glamberts” are causing issues in polls and are being discounted ? I have always suspected that we may hurt Adam as much as we help him.
Ageism, weight-ism, whatever the ef else they want to hold against us.

There is a shocking amount of ageism out there, and it makes me very sad. If Adam has one consistent message, it’s inclusion and loving yourself for who you are. Making other people feel bad about who they are is just wrong.

Ok, I just don’t comprehend how someone could call the album “lackluster” and full of filler. Once again, this critic likes songs that have been panned by others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it is cuckoo!!!

I read a few more of his reviews and he definitely has a disdain for any mainstream music and only does reviews for more “off beat” musicians. It makes more sense to me now!!
Pumpkit and elKat, Yeah, I have all the “isms”, but I’ll try to explain. I think I’ve just been on twitter too much! I had a blast watching the live stream at Boston and all the other fun stuff of the weekend. I was thrilled that Trespassing was #1 on itunes. Then things went south.
I would just catch tweets here and there that fans of some past Idols were voting for that AI Top 3, Glee and that Jack Black band just to keep Adam out. I don’t follow anybody who was active in that, but it just stirred me up. Was it true? Maybe some. But why do people get like that. Then there was a stir from the Adele camp to keep Adam out of No. 1 Billboard and ditto for Carrie. I even trolled a couple of Adele fans (never did that before) but did not see anything like that. I think they just want their girl to Stay #1 and maybe not against Adam in particular. We would be the same I guess. So Adele went from about #9 (or 7) on itunes to #2 within hours. And Carrie from (#9 or 7, flip flor with Adele) to like #3 in hours. Of course, they were both getting major exposure on Billboard Awards on television during those hours!
So I guess I thought, what do these rankings even mean if it is about fans buying multiple purchases and gifting and buying doing all kinds of crazy things to get or keep their favorite at number 1. I wished that Billboard or whoever started that item about Adam on course to upset Adele and Carrie for #1 billboard would have called in sick that day! It fueled their fandoms. But I guess it fueled Adam’s also. It just all seems phony and extreme.
Then I saw an Adam interview and he said to not put so much emphasis on numbers and just enjoy the music and performance. He was happy with good feedback from fans and from reviews and was just jubilent. So I felt better!
I guess is the protective feeling we get toward Adam together with my desire for fairness in this music business. Thanks for letting me vent again. I know many of you get exactly what I mean.
I don’t fault Adele or Carrie’s fans trying to keep them at #1; it is those griyos trying to keep Adam out of that spot that saddens me. There are some behaviors I will never understand. Thanks for clarifying!!

Bottom line, I think, is that the record label will do anything to fuel the flames because it means record sales, which actually IS their bottom line. We are not the only fan-dom out there … surprise, surprise ….and I don’t take anything away from the other fans ….. well, maybe Adele, as much as I like her, ENOUGH ! We are going for setting a precedent here with Adam, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR GAY RIGHTS THAT HE BE #1 THIS WEEK.
but, real truth be told, Adam will be fine, the album is doing great. He just needs to get the bugs out of the live performances before any tour, and before that he needs to nail those Queen songs.

El Kat, Yes. I am good with blaming the labels. Evil sobs! lol. I’m just kind of a stickler for transparency in research, stats and polls and such. But I’m naive when it comes to marketing and business. Just learning and don’t like being manipulated without permission! When Adam hits # 1 tomorrow or the next, I am going to be as jubilent as anyone. But will just look at all these rankings differently. Does #1 mean a lot of fans buying your album or a small number of fans buying a lot of album each? Maybe it doesn’t matter to the label. But, Adam further went on to say in this interview I was quoting, it opens doors, it opens budgets and gives the artist more support from the label, radio, etc.
And I have been staying away from twitter, but when I peek in, someone is talking about these numbers!!
Now, making an about face. Can you imagine Adam singing Underneath and Outlaws of Love at Royal Albert Hall? The acoustics…..no sound issues there! Wow

It lookin’ like it done did hit No. 1. Now eager to see all the # 1 things Adam hit by tomorrow I guess. My question is still there. Where would he be without BSC glamberts buying up the Wal-marts? And you know what, at this time it doesn’t matter. Cause I now see this is how the pop world rocks! A win is a win is a win! Go TRESPASSING! Go ADAM LAMBERT! You don’t like “Glamberts”? Well forget about being No. 1 haters.
I saw a tweet from somebody in Dallas who was talking to the guy who was restocking the records in her local record store, and he said they just got another shipment of Trespassing CDs, they they’re flying out of the store. I don’t believe that’s all Glamberts! I looked in a record store in Philly today and they had it on display in the front of the store with all the top of the charts selectons.
Beyond happy about this! Never thought that being called a Glambert at 65 would mean so much to me!
