Another great interview. Here is the best part:

What does it take to be a Glambert?

Reckless abandon. (Laughs) I think that any sort of diehard fandom is a crazy, surreal mentality. That’s part of the fun for the Glamberts; they’ve given themselves permission within that community to be kind of insane. And it’s gorgeous and it’s fun and it’s an escape; it’s not real life, it’s something else. Everybody wants that in some form or another. We all have our different versions of it. For people who are diehard fans, that’s their way; that’s their obsession and that’s their outlet.

I’ve noticed that Adam seems so much looser and open in interviews with gay magazines. Partly it’s because some interviewers for non-gay publications ask idiotic questions, but it also feels like Adam is more guarded about how he presents himself in more mainstream media. – j

Everyone on my twitter feed loves this part! I didn’t read anyone complaining about his “retail work”, which is good. But the Insane and reckless abandon parts will remain in our Bert vocabulary! I think he has nailed it!

Interesting how this critic disliked the “light” side and the EW one the “dark” side and neither gave it a good rating. It is probably a good sign that most of the songs have been chosen as favorites by various people and no one song has had a majority disfavor it. Of course, we all totally disagree with them both. This critic must not have done enough research to realize that Adam was the executive producer and since when is is a bad thing to have so many writers on one album?! At least least he didn’t put the “gay” spin on it!!!

      Dallas, Texas.
Do we really expect a good review ? Be interesting to see what he thinks of Kris Allen’s sophomore album.

Dallas was one town where they were playing Adam’s songs on the radio. Yes, has anyone looked to see how he ranks other artists?

I think that guy just wanted Adam to be all Josh Groban….flex the singing muscles and forget about any fun! I never heard of the guy, don’t read that paper, have no idea what he normally rates, what he likes, etc. Feels like he didn’t think it through, but liked FYE better? Well, like Adam always says, you’re not gonna please everyone.

I didn’t upgrade. I’m getting a little more frugal and may regret it later. But I just got word that the other 3 cd’s I ordered from Barnes and Noble are on their way also. I’ll give one to the library, one to my best friend in Alaska and keep the other as a duplicate. Things have worked out well with the Spring Fling. All 4 of us going together got tickets for the VIP bracelets so hopefully will be able to get a closer look. Cannot wait to hear the new songs sung in person. Would love to see him do Runnin, but am sure he will will do Outlaws of Love.

I’d like to wish my sister Glambertinas a very happy Mother’s Day (which is Sunday in the US), and a special wish to Adam’s mom Leila, for the wonderful job she did in raising a fabulous, confident and proud son. Without her non of us would be here, and because of her we have this insane, gorgeous escape.
Have a wonderful day ladies ! I have 2 of my 3 sons coming home to make dinner for me …. funny thing, I almost feel like I have 4 sons ;-)

No, nothing has arrived yet …….

Happy Mother’s day to you too el Kat! My hubby just took me out for a nice steak dinner. Son will call tomorrow I’m sure. True, Adam seems more like a son these days than a sex symbol! Of course, given the right picture on any given day can flip that sentiment around fast! He’s just somebody that fills so many needs! lol

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! Where are you DD?

  8. May 13, 2012 12:03 pm

Happy Mother’s Day. I woke up dreaming about Adam. I was with my friends and the postman came to my door and handed me my mail and it was my Adam songs from Amazon and the package came with a little projector that was yellow and black and looked like Adam. Somehow, we were in an auditorium and I was viewing videos of Adam and then he walked up onto an empty stage and he blew me a kiss! I pointed to my ears and the projection screen so he would see that I was listening to him and he gave me an Adam smile.
Wow, it was such a happy dream.
Then I went out for dim sum with my son, an annual tradition.
When do we start twittering #AdamOnGMA?

Gail…I want that dream. I guess it isn’t that deep considering what’s been happening, but a projector that looked like Adam is hard for me to picture!! lol
