So, the day is almost here , about damn time I’d say. I want to hear full, complete, finished songs NOW !!!!!
OK, allow me a bit of griping. I have now ordered 4 versions of this album and was about to order the UK with the 2 additional songs and I said to myself ” Are we being played here ?” Could they be doing this on purpose because they (the record co, not Adam …I hope) know us Glamberts will buy anything with Adam’s name, face or voice on it. Guaranteed to drive up sales numbers since they know we will buy anything they put out ! First the pre-order,I bought it, than the fan edition, i bought it, … I don’t even remember what the other two were. Did I order the one with a vinyl record with it ? I don’t even have a “record” player anymore !!
I will not buy the UK version with those songs ! I am counting on someone to provide a link to download them. I bet we hear there even more songs on the Asian version !!
Granted, I want this album to be a huge success and I am willing to do my part as a devoted fan to support it, but enough.
Of course, if there is a DVD with Queen I will probably buy 3 of those….
Yep, feelin’ all of your pain here. I just ordered 5 on Amazon (three as donations and one for my sister). But AO box set and who knows what else, itunes. IDEK. But I have to sit out on the international additional songs. I don’t get it but it may be a normal thing. I can’t even figure out what is going on in the US! I think there is a formula for how many songs work on an album, and some of these may not have the same “sound” that “fits” on the US version. God may only know, but I doubt it. On FYE, I ended up downloading the international songs separately feeling like I had already bought the album a few times. But then the touring edition came out and “counted” for US sales and I got it of course. It is crazy, but I think by the time it shakes out, we will be soooo happy!
I’m still wondering what the heck magazines, jewelry, and related stuff I’ve preordered??!!

Glad to see this Kiwi. I heard someone say that Underneath was written by someone else and I thought “how could that be, it is way to personal, too close to Adam’s experience, it HAD to be written by him” , and so it is. My emotional reaction to it is justified.
Same with Outlaws of Love.

I had heard that Adam had no writing on Underneath too and am so relieved that the did write it. Just goes to show you can’t always take tweets as gospel! But some of those song credits! Esp BTIKM involved so many people and they all want that piece! Takes a village? And worth it? I remember so many songs that read “Music and lyrics by_____”!
Now I see why Adam has been excited. Just unfortunate (IMO) that the first singles were not written by him.

I have a hypothesis that the label’s decisions about singles are made not only based on which songs they deem most “radio friendly” but also on which songs cost them the most in advances. They need to earn back the money they fronted. I would bet Claude Kelley and Bruno Mars got significant advances (they didn’t “give” the songs to Adam) and so there’s economic pressure to put them out as singles. – J
Yes, but BTIKM didn’t go anywhere and we shall see how NCOE does. That video cost a pretty penny but didn’t do any good. I’ve never heard the song on the radio. Not going to earn the money back on that one.
I’m discovering that I like Adam’s songs much better. They should realize that real, authentic emotion is what the listeners and buyers are into these days

After all the over produced hook-ey crap that is mainstream pop today the real thing is very refreshing and the listeners are relating to it. Maybe it’s the economy and difficult circumstances people are in but they seem to be looking for authenticity. Case in point – Gaga- Grammys- Zip, Adele-Grammys-the whole caboodle. These songs of Adam are perfect for right now.

I never heard BTIKM on the radio here in NZ either – it didn’t receive much airplay, and was dropped from playlists, I think. NCOE is doing much better though and one major station is playing it around 3-4 times daily.
I totally agree that authenticity is what connects with audiences and forges a long-lasting bond. Unfortunately, I think the labels are driven by short-term revenue goals. Making a long-term investment in helping artists develop their authentic voice is not even on their radar anymore. Bah! – J

Sooo, it turns out that Adam wrote my favorite songs on the album, that makes me happy ♥♥♥
Received my Instinct magazine today. Nice and glossy. Came in an envelope in good condition! Yummy! Now come on Flaunt!
As far as I am concerned, Adam’s voice is what sets him apart from many of the singers out there. Any song that showcases his amazing vocals is the most appealing for me. Underneath and Outlaws of love are so emotional and the vocals are so pure, that I wish these would be the ones they release first. I know that they have to appeal to the masses, and he has to compete with whats out there. In any case, I hope this time that they play Adam’s songs on the radio. It just makes me crazy to think that with a voice like Adam’s, he just doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
Promo is fast and furious. But I have gotten a little zen today. I’m feeling what our blog mistresses and other here have been saying….enjoy Adam’s music for yourself. Stop worrying about the radio (which I rarely listen to anyway) and trying to make something happen for Adam. Being a good fan is all I can do. I was ready to hit Barnes and Noble again to look for the EW, rolling stone, but decided to try for the mags where he is a Cover and enjoy others online. You know, just relax and enjoy. I’m sleepy, so this is a ramble!

But most of all, I love what he wrote to Tommy ” Your loyalty and gratitude are so refreshing and REAL” Well, if that isn’t ever a dis to Monte I don’t know what is, and he is still really hurt by that whole thing.
The whole thing is so wonderful, and so Adam, and so why we love this amazing man. Yeah, I choked up. Aren’t we lucky ????
