Naked Love snippet has been tormenting me, I cant wait to hear that one in full! Oh, all of them in full!!!! I wonder what he will wear. I do miss sparkly flashy Adam, I dont’ mind really, what he wears, but I just love all that ‘don’t trip off the glitz”

Fantastic! I wish he would sing “Underneath”. I love his voice on this song. I watched Idol for the two nights, and Queen was on. I was wondering why they never mentioned the tour, and the fact that Adam from AI was going to join them. Did I miss something?

I’m back ! Got home 1/2 hour before Kimmell, phew !
He looked amazing, loved the minimal makeup and jewelry, loved ( yikes) those leather pants and cool jacket. He sounded wonderful !!!
I listened to those snippets every night when I was away. My personal choices and predictions for hits – Trespassing, Shady, Cuckoo, Pop that Lock, Broken English. After those are released Underneath will be the biggest hit … Like Adele’s “My One and Only” – do the dance ones, the pop ones first to whet peoples appetite then hit them with a 2 X 4 with a vocal tour de force. As much as I love the record version of NCOE I don’t think it will be a hit … still don’t know why it was released after BTIKM, which I have never heard on the radio and am not surprised it is not getting played. I LOVE Naked Love but don’t see it getting radio play – it’s the gay thing. Might be big overseas.
I pretty much agree with the article posted by Bon Bon although I think the album will be more successful than she thinks, but I kept thinking while listening to the snippets, why don’t we get to hear the pure voice ? Why does almost every track ( except Underneath, thank God) have his voice dubbed/layered in 3 part harmony ? I still don’t think he has found the right producers. Does Bruno have voice layering ? No. Do Adele, Gotye, Ryan Adams,Adam Levine, JohnMayer, Kelly Clarkson’s hit “Sober” – NO !!!!
Do lesser singers – Flo Rida, Nikki Minaj, J-Lo, The autotuned Rihanna ? Yes.
    I don’t get it.

el cat you came back raring to go! I love the whole “look” at Kimmel. Adam, his band the layout and lights. But to me, Adam is just better and bigger than that song (NCOE). He’s got all this energy, charisma and voice, but just can’t get that song to be dancy or that catchy. I actually liked BTIKM for the vocals. I hope he gets a chance to release some of these other songs as singles. And apparently we all have different favs. I would so love to hear Kickin’ In on the radio (if I ever even listened to pop radio!) or in a performance. I also really love Trespassing. I agree with some others that these two single were “safe” songs, but aren’t really moving very fast. I thought the BTIM video is the best out there, but didn’t even last long on VH1. I am not as big a fan of Cuckoo as I thought I would be, but do really like it. I want some major uptempo song next (if we get a next!).But the fans will adore the album and enjoy whatever Adam brings to us.

Buffy, so sorry I missed your birthday ! Hope you had an Adamizing day.

Yeah, I’m back and raring to go, ready for this freakin’ album to finally come out, and all the hoopla and performances that will go with it. I want it to be a smash, I want the world to fall in love with him … Is that asking too much ??

Welcome back ElKat!!! Were you rushing home from the airport and did the DH know to put the pedal to the metal? I don’t think Adam needs the dubbing or layering either but that must be a) the music he likes to listen to and perform or b) what the record label thinks will sell. I admit that I have absolutely no idea what will be popular so I am not even going to try to predict. BTIKM is I guess too safe and Trespassing too risky? I think it all boils down to the 16 – 28 male demographic (gay or straight) buying into it and supporting him if he wants the success we would all like him to have in the pop world. I really do hope that happens. I agree with buffy that Cuckoo isn’t one of my favs; I like Shady, Underneath and Kickin In the best so far.

To change the subject: Did the baby come DD?

I absolutely love Adele but here is an interesting comparison:

    Enjoy!

    • April 27, 2012 7:33 pm

I decided a while ago, well, as soon as I heard the Adele version, that next to Bonnie Raitt, NO ONE comes close to Adam’s version, not even the accaimed Adele, which surprised me at first. She rushes it and doesn’t give it the emotional impact that Adam does.
I see a bright future for this boy !!!

      • April 28, 2012 12:17 am

        el Kat,
        I agree.I love HRH’s version.
I adore Bonnie Raitt -especially her old blues albums. I actually still have them on cassette tape-perhaps I should upgrade? But they still work. I don’t care what has been said in favor of the durability of CDs- don’t believe it. Their sound quality is great, but they are more delicate than I think they should be.
Glad you made it home in time to see Jimmy Kimmel. I’ve saving it until tomorrow.

Valiant try but she doesn’t have the weight to pull it off. Let me say that again, Maybe if I hadn’t heard Adam’s version I would go Wow, but once Adam enters your head there is no comparison.

The whole Idol “Queen” night was spoiled cause I just HAD to compare Adam to everyone, including the “Queen Experience”. Skylor did all things considered.

  9. April 27, 2012 5:52 pm

Holy smokes Glambertinas and whoever it was who wrote the article calling Adam “Broadway”, with fans like these, no wonder Adam is still self-conscious about his potential success. Some are sounding like my mother “why couldn’t you be more like your friend Linda?” Remember “the internet is a wonderful thing, you finally found a friend”. “Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll never make it”. “Why don’t you have more friends over? Maybe you should stop reading so much and go outside.”

Why do you want to make yourselves so unhappy about Adam, looking to asign blame to something or someone for a failure you already anticipate? Maybe you play some mind games on yourself by assuming the worst so you can be pleasantly surprised when the worst doesn’t happen.

Don’t be skerred, put on the headphones, sit back, relax and enjoy! Adam will get where he is going – with or without us supporting him in his choices. So many fans have competing ideals for him. Do we have so much invested in him that we’ll lose something if he doesn’t measure up to our definition of success?

Look, my mother still hasn’t given up on straightening me out and molding me into whatever she expected and gets upset when I don’t do what she wants and I’m nearing 60. I guess having lived with this all my life, I have a serious aversion to anyone giving someone else unasked for advice. What we should be concerned with is OUR role in Adam’s success. HOW can we help ensure it?

I don’t know how we can invite our friends to listen to him if we don’t like what he’s doing or are disappointed in his choices since sincerity is the most important factor in sales.

Sometimes I feel as though I showed off my baby and people said “cute if you like boys but a girl would be better”.

And, if I never hear Adele again, it won’t be too soon. She’s painful to listen to and her album is morose, miserable and on a single topic – her broken heart, blah, blah, blah. I cannot fathom why her album has sold so well except to say, buyers are sheep – they buy what they’re told without checking the product thoroughly. She’s politically correct.

Juneau does her best to explain fans’ wishful-thinking responses to Adam’s music but I don’t understand why we’re not celebrating as much as we can. Maybe I have too many other things to worry about and avoid worrying about anything I can’t control and enjoying every moment I can.

    Love,
    Xena

      X,

I’ve thought about how I would feel if this album isn’t as successful as predicted. I would be sad for Adam because I believe it is what he wants. As for us Glamberts, we will be there through thick and thin examining every aspect of Adam’s thoughts, moves, feelings, love life, family life, clothing, hair styles and songs. We love him even if we don’t necessarily agree with everything he does or sings. In thirty years we will probably still be driving or flying to be together to listen to Adam sing and possibly still dancing the night away after a concert; albeit a little slower than we do now!!! I think I’ll go get a glass of wine and join you in listening once again to NCOE and will throw in Shady and Underneath :)

      xoxo

Oh Xena, our mothers do stay with us don’t they ? And our efforts to un-do what they plant in our brains never leave us either.
About that author, she talked about Adam winning a Grammy …if only, close, but no statue. And the “Broadway” comment is predictable and over used. But I don’t have an issue with her, or anyone else, musing about what Adam did or didn’t, should or shouldn’t, will or won’t. Should he be the only artist not held to scrutiny ? I think the reviews have been pretty even handed, with the weight tipped to positive, even glowing.
Put yourself back to pre FYE, when those snippets came out, remember the craziness, the oohs & aahs, the euphoria ? We were sure he would be catapulted to multiple Grammys, Rolling Stone covers, a scepter and a throne, the mass hysteria we know he deserves. While it gave him riches and acclaim, more than he ever dreamed, that little hayseed McCreary sold more albums. We are out here in Glam Nation scratching our glittery heads, screaming ” What’s the matter with you people ???!!!” all the while stabbing those radio buttons and only coming up with more Katie, Rihanna, Levine and yes, Adele. ( I’m taking exception with you where Adele is concerned. I think her lyrics and performance are unique and authentic and struck a chord with her audience. Watch the concert at Albert Hall, her connection cannot be denied. But we will agree to disagree)

As much fun as we had at the GN Concerts we have to admit that we were dismayed every time someone asked us ” What is Adam doing now?” Didn’t we all get a tad defensive ? And guess what, I found some other new artists that I enjoyed, some other songs that made me dance , and also made me feel a little guilty and cheaty … Why aren’t Adam’s songs enough ?

Well, here we go again. These tenterhooks we are on now are making us all a bit testy, anxious and skittish. I love this man more than anyone, he is the most gorgeous, the nicest, the pinacle of manhood, the voice of this new century. BUT, does he have that midas touch where pop music is concerned. Does he have whatever the f@#k it takes to be the star we know he is. We are about to find out.
      I think he can
      I think he can
      I think he can
Ooo, i’m nervous about some of these songs. I’ve been opining on pop songs for 60 years, I cannot surpress my gut inner “I like the beat” reaction and my track record is pretty good.

Plus, here in the soft plushy lounge shouldn’t we be able to be the worried mothers that we all hate and be sheltered from the eye rolls ?

… what is that friend Linda up to anyway.

Oh, I missed this discourse last night! Not sure about the article in question, but I’ve read enough to get the drift and have heard it all before. Xena, always psychologically minded, I agree we are doing a lot of projecting onto this. Our own insecurities get dumped onto Adam. And of course to our own children. I worry more about Adam than my own son! Just as we could never quite figure out how to be perfect ourselves, we can’t figure out how to make Adam perfect. So while he touches that sexy, young, excited nerve in us, he also triggers the insecure, never quite good enough nerve. For me, and from what I read, a lot of us just want to “figure it out”. Why the snubs, what’s with the radio, what the hell does it take? I have to own that it is my need to control stuff. And when it’s out of my control, there is some anxiety. But I agree with you and elKat, that the best thing to do, is let it go. Do what you can and let it go. For me, that includes, looping on youtube, some voting, ordering a couple copies of Trespassing (that’s actually more than a couple I think), going to appearances as I can. Full support of concerts. And spreading the word!

And I agree with elKat on Adele. But I can’t just listen to her whole album. Just a few songs. And every time I turn on top 40 music, it is Adele, Kelly’s “Stronger”, Rhianna. It’s mind numbing! I also agree that we should be able to vent, babble, lament, celebrate, whine, cheer, etc. in the Salon. It’s really the only place I feel safe in doing that, cause you all know that I am a true at heart fan, just flawed, as we all are. love @buffy522

Hehehe my DH sat through all of Jimmy Kimmel, who he reallydoesn’t like, so we could hear Adam. When I mentioned that the other songs would be up on Kimmel’s site toimorrow, he said what, you could have taped this and then watched the others online tomorrow?! 1AM DH is a little cranky.
