Here it is 3am in the morning and I’m sitting at this computer checking out today’s eye candy. I am itchy to find out if he’s going to do a US tour and be near enough so that I can go. I have been to two of his concerts but, if the chance arises, I’m going to get closer to the stage on this one. I’d give just about anything to meet him. It’s not just his talent and good looks that attrack me. It’s his outlook on life and his freedom to be just who he is……….the darling Adam Lambert..
i agree with you on this one you said it brilliantly
Thanks, Becca. Or at least I THINK you were replying to my post.
Wow those videos of Sonic festival in Japan are great! So far I’ve watched (more than once) Day #1–Kickin’In, Shady, etc. What a great time Adam was having, so relaxed and free. I always thought he owned the stage, but the Queen concerts seem to have upped that even more. Very confident. I also like this more relaxed stage thing he’s doing–interacting with the band and singers–nothing choreographed. He moves best as the moment and the music strike him. How it was when he performed with Queen, part of what created that intimate feeling with Brian and Roger. More risky, but more exciting. The natural movement also gives the opportunity for more interaction with the audience which is key.
And perhaps most important of all… With the natural non-choreographed movement, he’s sexier!
Oh Yeah!
IsabelR,
I’m with you on not being wild about the idea of Adam being a judge on
Idol, but for a different reason. I thought your theory, though, very interesting. Have had mixed feelings all along. Sure, I’d like to know I’d see him on TV every week, and probably a given that more people would buy his album, but he’s already got more than enough identification with IDOL and, unfortunately, IDOL can be a stigma in the larger music world.
Look at many of the Queen fans. Their resistance to Adam wasn’t just
that he wasn’t Freddy Mercury but also that he came off of a reality
show (though he showed them big-time!) Tyler and Lopez already had big
careers formed elsewhere before they joined IDOL, though, yes, their careers
needed reviving, and being on IDOL did that for them. But Adam is still
emerging as an artist and he needs to capture other audiences as well.
Being a judge might help sell some albums right now and that is
important, but I’m concerned that immersing himself
even more in IDOL might hurt, or at least limit, his future career.
Still–and now I’m back to my mixed feelings–Being a judge would give
him great visibility. And selling more albums would probably guarantee a tour, etc etc All likely a moot point, though, as other possible names
keep coming to the fore. Nicky Minaj, now that would be a riot! (not that I’m voting for her)
Rosemary,
I agree with you as well. You have some very good points.
Of course, the main thing is that Adam will be ok, with or without the judgeship. He’s fabulous, and his career is fabulous, even if it’s not going exactly how he would want it to.
Very good point! – j
Yes!! Good point, IsabelR. The guy is hugely talented and he will find his way. His career hasn’t gone on the expected path, but some amazing things have happened along the way. After I wrote about my concern about IDOL “stigma” in the music world, then I thought..Look, he never would have sung with Queen in a million years if it hadn’t been for IDOL. And no matter what happens in the future, Adam will always have that Queen experience within him. And so will we.
