Weekend catchup

February 19, 2011

Adam Lambert has been spending the week enjoying a richly deserved vacation – the first real break he’s had since he embarked on his American Idol journey – but we haven’t been able to slow down one bit (not that we’re complaining). While our boy is frolicking on some South Pacific sand with his sunny Finn (we have coined “Lambskinen”, hope it catches), we have been diligently gathering the post-Grammy videos, fashion notes and discussion at Week in Review.  Today is your chance to catch up because tomorrow, there will be a whole new issue!

The highlight this week was our interview with the remarkable Monte Pittman. Do check out the podcast! It’s long and liberally sprinkled with tantalizing tidbits and hints about Monte’s new album-in-progress. You’ll get to hear two of his beautiful songs from The Deepest Dark along with one of his Prong masterpieces and a song he co-wrote for Madonna. You’ll develop a whole new appreciation for this remarkable musician, and how fortunate Adam is to have him as his musical collaborator and friend. Monte’s Kickstarter campaign has raised over $30,000, and we will be contributing with our exciting next campaign. Stay tuned…

P.S. Wesley Strick, who was the delightful subject of our recent video, just wrote to Juneau: “I’ve been thinking about you cuz I went to the Grammys (long story) and had an aisle seat and all these living legends kept walking past (Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Jennifer Hudson) on their way to the bathroom … and then who should suddenly be standing a foot from me in the aisle … but AL!!! Looking glorious, I must say. And, impulsively, I thrust out a hand and we shook heartily and he smiled glowingly and his DNA was all over my palm ..!!!” Ooh, wonder if Adam watched our interview and recognized Wes? Major flail!!

Lambskinen? Please think of something else. That sounds like a condom. The whole “shipping” thing this fandom does is fun (albeit juvenile). But, couldn’t we be a bit more respectful to our Idol. Sometimes we are as insensitive as his detractors.

      Random Medley and JX,
How about just Lambkin? It’s kind of cute, it’s an endearment, and it’s easy to say and write.

Yep, have to agree with Random. First thing I thought of when I read “Lambskinen” was a condom. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but Adam and Sauli need a better handle–so to speak.

I think what Random meant was….why do we feel the need to constantly combine HIS name with X,Y or Z?? ie” Kradam, Adommy, etc… ya see? He is Adam and the friend is Sauli. Period. What they call each other in private, I have no clue and don’t have a burning desire to know.We (his fans) can often be a double-edged sword. To an extent, I believe it IS a bit juvenile to ship Adam and whoever as a couple. Just as I doubt HIGHLY whether Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt ever refer to themselves as Brangelina.
In their zeal to show acceptance of an alternative lifestyle, I feel that many fans have gone too far overboard and into the realm of fruit-fly (as Adam refers to those formally known as “fag-hags”, a term he doesn’t care for) And with the MANY other fans I talk to from around the world on a somewhat daily basis, I am not alone in this opinion but it’s just that, opinion.
It is just that kind of intense speculation, titillation and preoccupation with a famous person or persons that has ruined many a high-profile relationship.
In summation, let me just say that I wish Adam well in every aspect of his life, including love.I can’t wait to hear his next album! From everything he has said about “less rhinestones, more leather” to “less camp, more real me” and more pop/rock, just screams ROCK GOD! to me and that excites me more than words can express!! Thank you again ladies for your continued support of our Glittery Alien! (Now there’s a “handle” Ha!) Love, Rose and Ron. ;D

Yes, and when will every political scandal not have “gate” attached to the end ??

      If nothing, people are predictable.

Hey, we could call them Sadam ! Give the name a whole new sweeter lease on life.

LOL Ellen! True! We really need to act a little more grown, if only a wee bit, right? Remember AMAgate?? LOL! ;D Thanks! <333

Wes is just too cute. “His DNA was all over my palm”. Wow, does that lead the mind in directions, well let me just say, free to roam. Maybe he can come on the show and share more about the Grammy visit (we have time for a long story) and talk more about the Adam touching. Like, did he notice any buzz around Adam, comments, flailing, etc.

For the record. Not sharing his thought of Jennifer Hudson as a “living legend” quite yet. Very sweet of him to have kept Juneau in mind and to follow through with this note. Please thank him from all of us!

I hear “Adam’s DNA and the scientist in me screams “CLONE HIM, NOW!” LOL! Is that crazy?
(Shhhh! It was a rhetorical question, really, lol)
I love to hear about Adam encounters! :D Thanks!

Sorry, the condom connection is just too obvious and combining names just juvenile.
