Every week, we are excited to bring to you a guest who offers a special angle on “the meaning of Adam Lambert,” whether it’s Isaac Carpenter or Lee Cherry who lifts the drapes a bit to reveal what it is like to work with Adam, or courageous “Johnnie Cakes” who shared his personal story about bullying, and the many others who offer pathways to inspiration and empowerment. This week’s guest inspires an extra dollop of warm and fuzzy feelings for us! She is by now known and admired by many of you as “Starlight”, author of Magic and Voodoo in New Orleans and Broken Open: Adam Lambert and the Agony and Ecstacy of Singing.” Known outside the Glam Fan world as Angelina Kalahari, she is a noted lyric sporano and actor with an exotic background and fascinating personal journey. Xena has fantasized (or prophesied) that Adam will one day be presented to the Queen of England. Well, Angelina already has!
We are very much looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about Angelina and to enjoying an in-depth discussion of Adam Lambert as a singer and entertainer. We know many of you are bursting with questions, so please post them, call them in, or ask them on the chat room during the live show. See you Wednesday evening!
Log in to our live show Wednesday, October 20, from 10:00 to 11:00 pm Eastern Time.

I really enjoyed Starlight’s article regarding Adam’s voice. Love all the wonderful comments, which are all very true of course.
I listened to your radio broadcast last week. It was very interesting. I wasn’t sure just how to join your chat room, but I have made note of the telephone number.
Looking forward to your show this Wednesday.
Greetings from Gale Hunter
We hope you can join us too! We will meet the very talented woman behind the brilliant words and have a chance to ask her the questions our readers would like answered. When the show goes live a “chat/play” button shows up, which you press to hear the show and the chatroom opens. We look forward to seeing you there!

Angelina is so talented and knowledgeable, it was a pleasure to hear about her.
However, I have an Adam concern…he’s not on the People’s Choice Awards list being voted upon right now. I and many other Adam fans have ADDED his name:
BEST MALE ARTIST:ADAM LAMBERT
BEST POP ARTIST: ADAM LAMBERT
BEST BREAKOUT ARTIST: ADAM LAMBERT
BEST SONG: WHATAYA WANT FROM ME BY ADAM LAMBERT
You, too can vote this way. Just go to http://www.peopleschoice.com and vote, vote, vote by writing in Adam’s name at the end of each category.
I just voted again. And again, and….
Great show! I love hearing about all the ways Adam is amazing, in addition to the ones I already know about!! I learned a lot about his voice, his singing and his performances. I was lucky to attend 9 Glam Nation concerts, including NOLA, so I have lots of many performances to think about in relation to all this new information!
Adam is amazing…now if we could just figure out how to prove it to the American music heads who control the awards’ nominations… *sigh*
Thank you for the fantastic interview, Juneau, Xena, and Angelina!
Since today’s music industry is not about promoting real talents anymore, I also have to thank Simon Fuller for believing in Adam.
As you never know where a mention of Adam will show up, I was happy to see a nod to him in a recent Time magazine article regarding how men are wearing more everyday make-up. I Feel Pretty by Joel Stein Oct.25, 2010 issue if you are interested.
This got me to thinking of yet another place we would love to see Adam. If you get Time you know they have a piece every issue called 10 Questions. I also adore Jon Hamm from Mad Men, another gorgeous man, and went to see the video of him answering the questions posed. People send in the questions, so you can see where I’m going with this. Let’s all write letters to the editor of Time and request that Adam be the focus of this segment. Please write to letters@time.com and request that Adam be asked 10 questions.
If you are like me and still watch the Donor’s Choose Questions to Adam video, where he is too adorable chugging coconut juice in his plaid shirt…then imagine another similar event for Time magazine. So…go to http://www.time.com/time/video/ and scroll down on the lower left side, to find archived 10 Questions videos and enjoy the one with Jon Hamm, or many of the others and think how much you want to see Adam in this format. Then send those requests off to the editor.
Later on we can see about having Adam be Time’s Glam Man of the Year, and make the cover.
Cyndy:
FYI: Some time ago Jon Hamm was being interviewed and the interviewer asked him about being recognized by people when he is on his personal time. I don’t remember the exact words Jon said something like this:
Well I don’t get recognized that often unlike if I were Adam Lambert. It was funny and showing respect for Adam’s popularity. I too think Jon is really handsome.
I very much enjoyed Angelina on your Blogradio show. Of course I know that he’s amazing, but it is great to have his voice analyzed by a professional voice coach and singer.
I remember when Adam was talking about Freddie Mercury on NPR, and explained that Mercury kind of “squeezed the notes”. Angelina used that same phrase when talking about Adam’s rock vocals.
OMG that was sensual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!! Beautiful analogy of Adams voice–right down or is it up to.. or across that ending! Like the dripping whip cream on a hot n cold sundae!
That was fascinating, what a wonderful interview with Angelina Kalahari! She has a beautiful voice, even at 3 am, I’m glad that she sang a little… The choice of “Feeling Good” was such a great illustration of everything that she was discussing about Adam’s technique, including that it’s more than just his voice that we are hearing. Also, what she said about the rock technique of squeezing the sound was exactly what Adam said in that segment he did for NPR about Freddy Mercury, so it seems clear that it is very deliberate when he does it. I’ve been reading various singers’ analyses of Adam’s voice from the beginning during Idol, and this was both the most technical and the most illuminating. It’s also interesting that Angelina’s opera colleagues share her respect for Adam’s singing. I hope that he gets his wish to one day sing in the Paris Opera house. They deserve each other.
